Hey, hows that working for you, im planning on getting one to replace the crank version. from wat im seeing im already loving it.

It's a great machine, the clamps are smooth, the tensioner would be better if it was a liner gripper, but it is still GREAT!

I notice you have a slew of KPS88's sitting there... are they all 9 pts. HL unstrung? Or 6pts. HL strung?

That looks great! Where did you get those pads for the mounting turny things (don't know their real name).

which one ? you mean the white one ? it is so-called "load-spreader"

Hey, I noticed you have Hi-Qua and Yonex clamps for badminton stringing. I mostly string badminton. I was wondering how the Wise tension head is working. Also, don't the side supports block some grommet holes?

your eyes are very sharp. I mostly string badminton as well.
and regarding Wise 2086, I love it very much, it is different. I strung 27x29.7 and it feels very tight.
for the block of grommet, it is depended on they way you put the racquet.

Do you use the pre-stretch function as well? Maybe we can exchange msn or email or something. I want to get some more feedback about the Wise badminton wise.

String/Guru,
Just wondering the 4 k88 came with different weights?/ Did you purchase them from different stores?

Thank you for the compliments.

The Alpha machine is an Alpha Accuswing. It has two functions, measure swingweight or measure static weight. Its precision is not great enough for static weight so that is why I have an extra scale that measures down to the tenth of a gram. But the Accuswing's main purpose is to measure swingweight.

Pricing is somewhere around $749 if I remember correct and you can call Mark at Alpha. I believe they are out of them until March or April

Let me know if you have any other questions

They are out of them since 2007, there's no reason to believe that they will ever have it again.

im looking to buy a stringing machine but dont really know how much to spend any idea ? :)

Check out this article from RSI of the USRSA, as it lists the different features and such, especially at the bottom of the page, click on the features table link, and it will show a list of machines and MSRP as well, and you can click on most machine models listed and it will bring up the manufactures web site so you can get a better detail of all the features of most popular models. A decent guide.

ive been thinking of buying a Progression ES II+ like your.....
how is it going for ya?
and hows the quality?
and last question do you get your moneys worth?

It is great, but sadly I don't use it anymore. The reason why is because that is the schoool's and i have my own stringer now. The quality is great nothing wrong with it. IMO I don't believe it is worth the money. I would just buy a crank, but if you have a lot of racquets to string and you are in the stringing bussniess then go right ahead. But if you are stringing for yourself and a few friends just get a crank. Like a revo 4000. Or a drop weight.

Ahhhh, that's not good.

Not a big sample size, but c'mon. Frames within 3 grams (0.1 ounces) of each other? And within 1/4 inch (2 points) balance difference? Not bad at all.

I'm sure at a 10% markup in price, racket companies can go back to their old methods and place their frames in different weight ranges.....bring back the L, L-M, M, M-H and H designations.....but this time 13.3 ounces is H and not L-M.

Pic's of my Comet 11/Wise set up.

Base clamps-Silent Partner/DG
Clamps-Silent Partner Aria/Opus
Mounting system, table, stand-Comet 11
Tension Head-Wise 2086

I'm going to try and send some to Al & get them on Photo Stronger. It's a nice set up. I've come to the conclusion that the Eagnas base clamps suck.

Thanks, thats a nice set up. Did you do anything special to get the 360 degree rotation? Also only three out of the four pics work, the top one doesn't.

I went to the auto supply store and got a wheel barring and put it under the table. The frame in the pic is my nBlade and has a 4-1/4 grip size. The height of the table accommodates every grip size I've encountered so far.

I am not sure he is actively maintaining that site any longer. I sent him some photos of my SAM Pro-Master last Fall - he never replied, and the photos never appeared on the site.

Take care.

I e-mailed Al 2 or 3 weeks ago and this was his reply:

Hi, Dan
Yes, I still accept them for eventual inclusion on the site. I can't currently make any promise on timelines to get them incorporated (due to my work schedule), but I have been accumulating (and still wish to accumulate) more photos to go on the site.

Al Ruscelli
Stringing Machine Photo Library

Al has a pretty cool site with a lot of photo's. I'm sure it's like anything you start that ends up being good. It gets bigger than you. I started a Community Tennis Association about 4 years ago in the town I live in. I thought we'd have a few USTA league teams and 50 members or so. There is now about 400 members and 50 teams. Good things tend to morph into real good things.

Good to know! Thanks for the update. Perhaps my photos are in the stash he has been accumulating. IMO, his site is a very valuable resource for stringers and people looking to buy new machine, and I hope he can continue to maintain it.

Take care.
