Sky Sports covered this match on the copy I have, and they gave Sampras and Rafter far more than the clean winners. I don't know if their judgment calls were mostly on serves or other shots, so I'll just lay out my numbers and the network's.
Sampras d. Rafter 6-2, 6-4, 7-5. It was in Munich, a week after their Davis Cup match in Washington DC.
Rafter had beaten Korda the day before in his semifinal, 9-7 in the fifth after saving match points in the fourth set.
The hosts said the court was very fast. Sampras had said that the court was playing faster than grass.

The judgment calls I make in my stats tend to track well with American networks and with matches done by Leo Levin. In this match I gave each man 5 judgment calls, all on serves, so by that method Sampras would get only 45 total winners, Rafter 24.
This is the first time I've seen stats from Sky Sports, and it's an indication that winners may be done quite differently elsewhere.
And the ue's were rather low: Sampras was credited with only 7 for the entire match (none in the first set), Rafter with 12.
One of the announcers (Gerry Williams or Bill Threlfall) saw how low the ue's were and said that he never believes UE stats anyway. He added (paraphrasing), let’s not even look at that stat.
