Actually, his strings are the same retailed/packaged Poly Gut Hybrid 17 that you find at TW, and anywhere that PACIFIC is sold...Rainer's tried Prime together with the Poly Force 17, but it was too 'fast' for his game.

You may be right. I keep records through stringjob.com, and this is what I have from Rainer in March. It may have changed.

His racquet is a PT10. I have seen it :) (a prestige classic that comes perhaps around 11 oz (less than stock pc600) off kennelbach, austria factory, with two 1/4 inch strips of lead all the way undre the bumper and silicone in handle)
It simply plays like a heavy headed (weight is concentrated in upper half of head) PC600.

Correct.
Leaded/siliconed PT10 (12.8/13oz. w/o strings) strung with Pacific PolyGut ATP Hybrid at 23/22 kilos <as of FO2009 TF player logs>

You know what is really funny. Schuettler still has to have the collar above the grip. HEAD even puts the new style Ski Tip logo on his Collars.

Cant truly remember his name but another german player in atp 300s also have the same exact racquet (and schuettler's friend) schriek or something...

Anyhow, I wonder if Schuettler will do any good at W this year as well.

I personally think, any PC/PT600 player has a huge advantage on grass court. I happened to buy a pair of PT600 for reasonable price recently (and also have a PT10) and this is the best serving racquet ever.

Hello,

play Schuettler the following racquet (PJ):

Head Microgel Prestige MID (93 inch² - 600 cm²)

Which strings does he play actually (mains and crosses), maybe at Mercedes Cup, Stuttgart 2009?

Thanks

Rainer playes 32cm balance at 340grams..

Now I got a question..

The retail PC600 was 330grams at 31cm balance.
How is it possible that he plays the racquet with 340 grams but a that different balancepoint?
Thanks..

Lindsay, When you strung Schuettler's racquets what was the code in the throat? Was it TGK237.1 or PT10?

I have no idea. I don't record those things and I don't know the difference between the 2. All the different Head codes confuse me just as much as everyone else. I have seen many frames with the PT10 code, I couldn't tell you what that is. The guy I was stringing with was very familiar with Rainier's frames and told me it was a Prestige Classic. I do remember it having the plastic throat piece, but I've strung a few too many since then to remember much else.

I have both and know the difference. The PT10 is the Classic and the TGK237.1 is the MG Prestige Mid. Also there is a difference as to how the grommet channel starts at the throat.
It looks like Schuettler has switched to the MG Prestige Mid.

The plastic Collar and pallet from the Classic fit on the MG Prestige Mid.

Interesting. I have a question I'm sure VS knows the answer to. Is it possible to have a PT10 without that plastic collar? Because I do remember Rainier was the only one at the BMW Open with the plastic collar, but I do remember seeing frames with the PT10 at that event.

Yes it is possible to have a PT10 with out a collar. Most of the guys use it with out the collar.

Ok, I found a pic of the frame from the event. You can't see the code in the throat, but you can probably decifer what it is. Give me a sec.

I have two pt10s and neither have the collars. I actually took the original pallet off and had it down to the bare hairpin. no different from a retail mg prestige.

Well there should be a code that mentions "PT10" on the bare hairpin. Wasn't there? That is probably the only visible difference compared to a retail mgpm

I know one for a fact is a pt10 because I took the pallet off and it had the h22010p code on it. That may not be it exactly but i know it had h22010. It was the same as what racquets crafts in which is brand new. The other I don't know of though because it has a custom handle on it and I wasnt about to mess shave it down just to see the code.

And yes the code is the only visible different but it is not printed on it. it is more of a piece of paper that is glued onto the hairpin. the basic construction though is identical which results in whatever kind of head pallet/collar you wish to put on it.

Since Schuettler appears to be using the TGK coded racquets (which are, based on past threads: made in china but finished in austria racquets, for pros) Is there a possibility that PT10 coded racquets are not produced in Austria anymore?

I think the three racquets with the collars are TGK237.1's. Because of the way the grommet channel is at the throat.

Seems like head is making or wants to have all their pros switch to the microgel mids. Or they may actually like them better. Who knows.

If you look at the top pic in #22 and get out a magnifying glass you can easily read the code as TGK 237.1

I believe it's not the Microgels in particular, but anything that is made by the China factory (usually designated by the TGK codes) that they're trying to get the pros to switch to. They have pro stock versions of the YouTeks as well as the MG's in that range. It seems to be a matter of getting them off the PT series, or anything from the Kennelbach, Austria factory.
