Ive owned both rackets, and ide say the k95 is a better overall racket for me at least. The kbt was great when i really wanted to play long points, but when trying to put away balls i just couldnt get enough on my shots. This was even more annoying when i played people who were fast. Also i didnt like the headsize, a little too small for me.
The k95 does everything well. I love the stability and power is there when you swing. I get great control and great spin with it. The only downside would be the weight. It starts to take a toll on my during tournaments where ive played 5 matches.
k95: for an all around type of player who is pace and spin orientated.
kbt: for an all around type of player who focuses on placement and feel.
I agree with this, and k95 has more pop. I now wish I'd bought this instead of the KBT, but what can I do...
SAME lol, but i may give it a demo, i wonder if theres anything better out there than the k95 by what people say.
Give it a demo. I love the KBT, but it doesn't have as much pop as I want. The k95 has that extra pop. Control suffers a bit tho, but I'm completely fine with that because of the pop and extra bit of spin gen in the 16x18 version.
COOL, i can wait to try it, i think ill try the 18x20 version like the KBT. is there anything like the k95 which is should try while i have the chance, something better than the k95? so i can demo a few side by side.
Honestly...I have no idea. Too scared that I might discover something much better than the KBT and blow my money on it.
EDIT: Oh yes, the AG100 or AG200. My friend has both and I gave them ago. I only had about 30min or so for each so I can't really give an opinion, but they seemed pretty similar to the KBT, but a little more power and spin because of the 16x19 string pattern.
just want to make sure, but is everyone talking about the 18x20 or are some people talking about the 16x18?
played with both....found the k95 the better all round racket of the two, in fact found kbt to feel a bit like a toy. The K95 is as solid a racket ive played with, great serve and solid volleys, found topspin difficult and it has too much power due to its stiffness and not great for touch shots again due to its stiffness. Lokk at Del Potro it suits hard flat hitters from the baseline with a big serve.
I moved to the rebel 95, it lies somewhere inbetween, it has the pop of the k95 but with loads more feel and spin. They come in at the same weight but the rebel feels less due to its HL balance. A much better racket than both of these IMO so Djoko4thewin demo this racket too with the k95. Ive recently hit with the new radical MP and this also has a good feel to it. 3 great rackets to demo that will cause you all kinds of mental problems of which one to buy!!
The K6.1 95 is by far a better racquet, I dont know about the pop comments, I think the KBT has a bigger pop, but stability, serve spin potential, and basically everything the K6.1 kills, I think the KBT is preffered by flat eastern grip hitters and as for the k6.1 it fits well into all styles of play, I did not nearly enjoy the KBT as much as I thought I would!
the 18x20 is the one i was talking about.
Thanks, that really will create some dilemas. i was thinking about the new radical MP initally but the weight of it is just so low even lead wouldn't help it sufficiently. some people have said it lacks the ability to hit against hard hitters due to the weight issues so i think the prestige MP would be a better option, but that doesn't come out for a while and who knows if that would beat other rackets of it's kind. or i could try the current prestige MP anyidea how that plays?
so i'll try the other 2, although the k95 sounds right to me, as i'm generally a flat hard hitter from the baseline tbh.
Yeah your right it does have some stability problems but not as bad as I first thought it might. It actually feels a lot heavier in the hand, Ive added 20g in the top of the handle and 8g at 10&2 and it feels great. Ive also got agassi LE radical, its OS head is so easy to use. Its hard knowing which racket to take out the bag, i love them all, never mind my i.rad. The prestige MP is great, I had the microgel and the i. prestige just prefer the rebel witha bit more pop.
I've been using the Dunlop Aerogel 200 for the past couple of years. I've recently demoed many rackets: K95 (18X20), KBT, Yonex RDiS 100, Adidas Tour, Dunlop 4D 200, Babolats Pure series rackets, K90, MG Prestige variations and a couple of others.
During my demo process, I kept going back to the K95. I think I'm going to go for it.
If it helps, I'm a USTA rated 4.5 player. I play singles and doubles. I would say I play a more aggressive style trying to get to the net whenever I can, both in singles and doubles.
