He said that because he is 0-3 against Sela, playing againt him is not safe, so he decided to play doubles only. I think Ferrer and Ferrero will play singles. Sela beat Ferrer as well last year but not on clay.

They need him. If neither Nadal, Verdasco or Robredo are playing, Ferrer and Ferrero are needed, and they both are excellent clay players, while Sela and Harel are not so great on clay (though Harel has beaten Sampras on clay once).

Against Israel? Robredo scared of Sela?

Spain are a bit lucky it's on clay. On HC, Sela could maybe beat both Spaniards and Israel would maybe win in doubles. But, on clay, they are unbeateable.

I'm not sure if Dudi could beat Ferrer on hard,but now it's on clay,I believe in an easy spanish win.Though with the Israelis you never know.They're fighters till the end.

He would definitely have a chance on HC. But, on clay, no way.

Maybe if Ferrer is not playing, they have a chance. We'll see. Israels have caused upsets in the past.

I should put NamRanger in my sig, too, I guess. He's the old testament prophet, whereas you are like new testament one. He predicted it long before, whereas you announced the immediate coming of the Lord.

Well, Sela owns Robredo (3-0 h2h), and he also beat Ferrer last year, but all matches were HC matches. Sela likes HC anf grass, but he hates clay. However, if the Ram and Erlich can win a point and Sela somehow gets a win, who knows. Nobody gave us a chance against Russia and Sela and Levi totally crushed them.

Hopefully it won`t be a struggle like in the match against Germany where they had to play a deciding match.From what they selected Ferrero is their best man,who would have thought.

He's actually also having knee problems. They've bothered him all though the US tour but I think they're just hoping the problems are not going to be bad on clay, b/c they do need him.

The serve is his main weakness, he's fast around the court, has a spectacular BH, his skilld at the net are great, but he's just not big and powerful enough to compete with the big guys. On Davis Cup however, he won quite a few important matches against big guys, including Gonzo once.
