What a bunch of *******s tennis.com is. :)

nadal and the rest of the babies need to stop crying. And Robredo at this point in his career should thank his lucky stars he is even allowed to play.

What would be the penalty if a top player decided to end their season with the US Open and say "no thanks" to Shanghai, Paris and London?

I personally think they should have a window of about 3 months with no mandatory events and no Davis Cup ties. That way, if any of those guys played during that period, we'd know they just like to complain:D

haha, Shanghai b¡tch fest... that made me laugh out loud (aka LOL)

harsh article but there might be truth in it. What a conundrum, they complain yet they are ready for their exos......

"It’s not required that Rafa sign up for this event, though one can only guess that the folks at Abu Dhabi are offering up sizeable appearance fees that will probably go a long way in making a tired mind and body feel rejuvenated."

Ahahahahahahaha

"But instead of watching this interminable rerun about the oppressive tennis schedule, it would be refreshing to hear the players talk about ways to invigorate and support their brand."

I think this statement from the article says a lot. They players need to revisit how fortunate they are.

Abu Dhabi is an exhibition tournament. It does not affect the ranking points. Therefore they do not need to play that tournament.

Bottom line: Nadal is an exhibitionist.

LOL

That reminds me of a guy I met for whom English was a second language, who was some kind of consultant. He said his competitors were self-promoting and exhibitionists, though I am pretty sure that is not what he meant.

But I think Fed and Sampras are also exhibitionists, having revealed themselves 3 times in all?

I meant the more you play the higher your rank

the more you win, the higher you rank, that's how rankings work.

and besides there is a limit to what tournaments can count towards your ranking, wins outside of that doesn't count.

if you do not utilize and maximize the point options given to you, it's your problem.

Safina deserves to be #1 because she earned it. Winning a slam is nice, but shouldn't be a requirement. Serena shouldn't be #1 just because she's won 3/4 slams, or heck 4/4 slams if she doesn't show up elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with the ranking system right now.

What Roger Federer believes is that its Quality not Quantity.

He did not believe that Jankovic should have been number one and even said that if you dont have a grand slam then you should not be #1.

Are you disagreeing with Roger Federer?

yes I'm disagreeing then, so does the whole ranking system.

and it is quality as well, she couldn't get enough points to be #1 if she didn't perform well at the tournaments that she entered. it's not like someone can enter all the tournaments, make second or third round exit and still make it to #1.

this actually shows that the slam winners of that year were not up to par (only going on a hot streak for 2 weeks) for the whole year.

Looking really stupid now, with a possible strike coming up. Also, don't forget Federer complained along with lots of others as well.

I don't see why you should not be able to just play what you want?
