Liddell vs. Franklin. Who and why?

I am going with Ace - think he'll take Iceman down and G&P him. And hopefully Chuck will finally retire.

I hope Chuck doesn't retire after this. I read somewhere he might be fighting Forrest in the near future. Then again i also read that Forrest may take on Machida in the near future as well.

Chuck and Forrest would be interesting. I think Machida would maul Forrest.

Just saw a pic from today's weigh-in - Chuck is in the best shape ever.

Rest of the card isn't that exciting.

If Chuck gets knocked out again I hope he walks away. I never like seeing an old veteran keep going in there and getting knocked out. After the Shogun fight I thought it was time to walk away for him but he keeps coming back for more.


I hope the Machida rumors are false. I dont wanna see him fight. 3 rounds of backpedaling isnt exciting. He tried to be more aggressive and got his head taken off. That was awesome.

You must not like a lot of the top UFC fighters then. Most are counter fighters. Unfair to single out the Dragon.

There is counter fighting and there is running. He runs. also most of the champs dont counter.
Brock just runs you over
Shogun knocks people out like he did to Machida. Holds his ground and fights kind of deal.
Silva does counter and I have said how sad I think he has become. His vintage stuff is amazing his recent stuff is really embarrassing.
GSP out wrestles every one.
Edgar is another wrestler.
So 1 champ counters and is having issues with engaging people. And he has the ability to dismantle people but just doesnt seem to want to.

Just read that Franklin ko'd Chuck with a broken arm? :S

We can agree to disagree. Chuck was a counter puncher. So is Rampage. So is Spider. There are plenty. At the top of each weight class if you go flying in these days you'll usually wake up asking "what happened". The good old brawling days of UFC are gone forever. Ask Rashad if Machida is a good counter striker.

What a fight between Chuck and Franklin! Chuck looked good - landing numerous kicks, one of which apparently broke Franklin's left forearm, and punches. But again, he got careless and paid. Thought he had Franklin hurt with an elbow. Jumped in and threw and missed a wild right. Franklin countered with a beautiful short right hook that crumpled Chuck.

And Cro Cop's win over Barry was nice too. Barry ran out of gas and Cro Cop made him pay.

The rest of the card was pretty sad.

For his own good health, I hope Chuck retires.
