Cutting down a longer racquet

There are some threads on extending racquets, but I am wondering if there is a method to shorten them. For example, if I have a PDR Plus and want to get it down to 27 1/4 in. from 27.5, how would that work. Could you use a professional type band-saw, or would that splinter the pallet?

does shortening the racquet affect its playability? if i shorten a plus racquet would it play the same as a standard length?

I used a fine tooth hand saw and it worked fine.

The pallet material saws fine, but go easy when you get to the actual frame -- the graphite can splinter pretty easily. Go slowly and you should be fine.

Question is do you really need to cut it down at all? I have a 27.6 " racquet. I find if I simply choke up on the racquet for strokes, it works fine for additional control when I need it and I still retain the benefits of length on serves and when stretched out wide. If you practice choking up when you want to it will become second nature.
