Stringing Advice

I'm currently using a Ktour with Babolat VS 16 @ 58 on the mains and Luxillon Alu power rough @ 60 on the crosses.
I was thinking about lowering the tension about 4 pounds, but also I was wondering how it would differ, if I switch the alu power to the mains and nat gut to the crosses. Also what difference would it make if i switched to all alu power?

The launch angle will be higher is you drop tension 4 pounds. Bit more power.

Switching the alu to the mains will be a completely different beast. Your current hybrid is relatively soft, powerful, comfortable. Alu mains with vs crosses would be stiff, low powered, and uncomfortable (relatively).

Alu power instead of alu rough would increase the life of your strings, both in durability and tension maintenance. Alu fluoro would be the best option.

MM is right on here. If I were you and I wanted to drop the tension a bit to get a little more pop (so to speak, more or less change the rebound angle), I would go with the NG at 58 lbs and the Lux at 55 lbs or the NG at 55 lbs and the Lux at 52 lbs (I just like 3 lbs difference in hybrids :) ), the softer string should typically be tighter in my opinion.

Which string do you suggest I put in the mains and crosses?

If you're looking for spin/control, Lux/NG (M/C) is the better combo IMO, but if you hit flatter / volley a lot, you might try the NG/Lux combo for the added feel and comfort.

Thanks for all the help.
I have one last question...hopefully.
I've been using the 16 gauge vs nat gut...if i switched to 17 what difference would i feel and would you suggest making the switch?

17g might give you a bit more pop and grip on the ball than the 16g, but the smaller gauge really cuts down on the durability of the string. It might be worth a try for you, but I don't see it happening for me.

Does it feel good at 60lbs? I've strung a lot with Alu power rough and itsa bit better i guess that its in a hybrid, but generally i don't like stringing it up higher than 58. Besides the fact it loses tension, i always feel its a bit too tight...but then again everyone has their own preference
