I was speaking to a major Wilson rep and he told me that Yonex out spends both Wilson and Babalot, because they own 50% of the badminton market on the planet. Money for them is not much of an object and all of their pro products are very high quality.

Verdasco's issue was very different, as his new agent tried to push Yonex for more money than they originally agreed on; Yonex did not appreciate that. He did get the money from Dunlop, but Dasco does not like what Dunlop came up with, so he is still using the Tec racquets "for now".

I disagree.

I believe Tennezsport is right. Maybe Verdasco didn't like the racket, but what he did wasn't cool. Verdasco was testing Yonex rackets. He was told no stencil or anything yet he shows up at a big tournament with a Yonex stencil and bag. Great setup. Wins tournament and, of course, his agent demands more money.

It's fun to see which pros uses what rackets, but the bottom line is we play with the racket we like no matter who plays with it. All this stuff going on is strictly about money and business.

When does Woz contract officially end with Babolat. Anyone know ?

That's when we will officially find out about any new deals.

On Feburary 6th, 2010 Verdasco signed a contract with Yonex, but there was one stipulation the general public was not made aware of.
Apprently Verdasco's Yonex contract had a 30 day 'opt' out option according to an inside source of mine. An aggressive move by Yonex in my opinion to sign Fernando, who's well known for his Calvin Klein ads.

And the worst happened, after winning the SAP Open using the Yonex RDiS 200, he was spotted in Indian Wells using his Tecnifibre frame again. Reason for this? Verdasco had opted out of the Yonex contract as stated in it even though Yonex offered him a generous amount of money (my source did not disclose the amount) and signed with Dunlop, news broke yesterday in a press release released by Dunlop . Verdasco commented: "Becoming a brand ambassador for Dunlop is a very proud moment for me and I look forward to joining the great players already associated with the brand. I am continuing to work hard and with the help from Dunlop I hope to be able to make this my most successful year to date."

Verdasco will immediately begin testing Dunlop's 2011 technology. A shocking move for one of the top 20 players in the world in my opinion!

No doubt, if the players don't get paid or use a racket from a different company, there is no stencil. Promote products for free, no athlete will do it.

He had a 30 day trial period. Contract doesn't begin until after the 30 days. Standard deal. You don't stencil your racket or use a bag from that company unless you had other motives. Your agent must have told you that.
You may be right. Perhaps, he hated the racket, but it wasn't his only motivation.

vs babolat--just having fun. Verdasco is a great player. His match at the U.S. Open was one of the best of the fortnight. I just don't like the ethics and character of some players who try to fool the public pretending to use a racket from a company when they aren't. If Verdasco is under contract from Dunlap he shouldn't be using his old frame. Ethics. Just don't take the money until you like something.

Well, I find it strange because she had a lot of success with Babolat. She is number 1 in the world and she won a lot of tournaments. Is it announced ? Is it for sure ? :-?I will ask babol

VS does have a point as that clause was in the contract according my sources. However, it was Dasco's agent, not Dasco that wanted out because he felt Yonex could pay more. Yonex was insulted and withdrew.

Verdasco's agent is really the one who got him to leave Tec, when he promised Tec that he would not leave. The agent is new and felt that Dasco is getting older and not getting what he is worth from the racquet makers. I believe you will hear soon that Dasco has jumped companies again; stay tuned. Sorry for the derail gents.

If the Woz really likes the Yonex racquets she will do very well with them, as they really are some of the finest racquets made. With the largest sweetspot in racquets today, these rqcquets may actually help her once she dials in her tension.

I knew I was right.
Yonex didn't want to pay what they asked, because Verdasco is just not worth it.
We all know how Japanese business man are, and honesty and honor are virtues they really value.
I have heard through the years that Yonex is the best company to be sponsored by, they will have your back and it happens with Seles where they still sponsor and pay her even if she barely plays tennis.
So they didn't keep up their word, tried to get more money that Verdasco wasn't worth it and therefore Yonex told them to go somewhere else.
As far as I hear, Verdasco's manager is an idiot and Verdasco should have never left Tecnifibre.
But Wozniacki will be a much better deal than Verdasco in every single aspect.

Right, Verdasco is Not blonde and does not have a great butt. Only 1 factor played in Yonex decision. Japanese men LOVE hot blondes. Wozniaki, Dementiava, Kornikova, Ivanovic and that skinny stick girl....

Yonex has proposed a sponsorship and yonex is giving much more money then babol. however, caro plays with babol since she waas 14 years old. she will choice. it will be hard for her. so it is not for sure. it is just a rumeur. i have contacted babolat, i have some friends there, and they said it to me. so... CARO IS MAYBE GOING TO SWITCH, BUT ITS A GREAT CHANCE SHE DOESNT GO AWAY FROM BABOLAT !

I would expect that she has 30 days to decide if she will change over to Yonex. That's pretty standard. After that we will know for sure. It's not a rumor. She did step on the court with a Yonex frame. Just check all the pictures. And her agent said so in several articles. Babolat will have their spin and so forth.

What do you expect Babolat to say ?

I think yes if you talk to Babolat that they will say most likely Carol will stay with that company. If she was with Wilson, they will probably tell you the same. and If she was with me, i will probably tell you the same. Til she leaves,,,and contract is signed, of course. If i were her and her father, i would go where the Money is. Long term, there is no sense in sacrificing millions of dollars in racket contract unless that racket really sucks. and i think Yonex makes just as good of racket as babol.

Untill the end of the year, you mean just next month then, commonly known as the off season in tennis? It certainly looks like she' playing with something yonex ish, maybe this'll be the springboard she needs to become the female GOAT.

Yonex makes fantastic racquets. Would love to see more exposure from Yonex. Besides, i am sure many would agree, tennis is dominated by the big 3 companies (Wilson, Bab, and Head) already. Would love to see more competition.

Look here its a fact that Caroline is no longer with babolat from the beginning of next year and thats 100% certain!. I made a thread on this subject while she played in Doha, but the thread got deleted. Caroline talked about her racquet change on national tv. So I guess your contacts really dont know much..
