Poly star energy 16g?

Howdy,
I am interested in putting poly star energy 16g in a tour 90. My only issue is how is a full bed of the stuff and should I hybrid. If a hybrid what would you suggest. I don't have too many arm issues with pht full in this stick, I just want a little more zip.

Any suggestions would be appreciated plus any Reviews of how a full bed of poly star energy 16g hits would be great too!

Just to cut off the use the search feature trolls- I did and found no useful info on full bed of the 16g

Just curious, but what does plastic spin mean?

The downfall of Energy is that it "goes dead" within a week (for me). I usually do a full bed. It's a nice, soft poly with plenty of pop.

I'd give it a shot as a full string job first.. string it up a few lbs tighter to compensate for the initial tension drop and you'll fall in love with the feel and comfort with this string

Actually, based on physics, stringing it at a lower tension= less tension loss at a time= easier to deal with

lets say one is at 40lbs, the other 60 lbs. They both ultimately reach 0 lbs at the same time, but the 60lb one loses more tension per given period of time.

If you do, then string the crosses tighter by 4lbs.

I am kind of curious as to why you suggest the crosses being tighter, my first insticnt would be the mains, since those seem to be the first to start to lose tension and really move--well at least for me.


It is the darndest thing I can go through 17g and 18g poly like its going out of style, but have a heck of a time snapping 16g poly such as the signums, ph, and pht. I think I am going to give the full bed a try, I just wanted something with a little zip and possibly on the softer side of the spectrum. How does this stuff compare to the alus? I think they tend to go south after 8 or so hours, although I thought ace was reasonably lively until it snaps after about 16-22 or so hours for me. I just find lux to be bit harsh and jarring on mis-hits at times.

I guess a full bed woul play great, definately softer than PHT! People have said it goes dead quickly but i disagree. It certainly loses tension quite fast for a poly, but i found it to stay playable untill it snapped upto about 10 hours.

I've used it during 3 months and i've found the exact same thing.

Used it again today for the first time in a while and realised how much i love it! Sounds like a gun shot!

The crosses are the tensioners in any string job, and they are the ones that will determine how quickly the mains start going loose, esp. in an 18 x 20 frame. Sppp holds tens. better than any other copoly/poly out there, and when it holds tens., it's tougher to break it, if it doesn't move back and forth sawing itself in half. A tighter cross will decrease sawing as well as increase tension on the mains, making the job last longer tens. wise....
