Eventually, undoubtedly.

How long that will take is dependent on which poly mains you're using. Some only last 2-4 hours, others 10-20.

In the summer, I think you can get about 10-15 hours of OK play. In the winter, maybe 15-20 hours. I use Signum Pro polys and they retain tension better than most. I string a touch higher 50-52 poly mains with multi cross +3-4 lbs above main tension.

If you hit the ball really hard and play hard hitters, the numbers will go down. I play around 4.0-4.5 level and get roughly the hours quoted above.

what exacly is multis?

Multis means multifibre strings like Tecnifibre X-1 Biphase or NRG2. Basically, the string consist of hundreds or thousands of nylon strands.

Syn gut strings are usually a big monofiliment core string wrapped in 1 or sometimes 2 layers of strands.

Multis tend to offer a bit more power and feel than syn guts but they usually do not last as long.

Tecnifibre X-1 Biphase and NRG2 are excellent multis but pricey.
