Does multi weigh more than poly

I have a Dunlop AG4D 200 strung with NRG2 and another strung with ALU Power and I noticed that the one with NRG2 weighs significantly more than the one with ALU Power. I don't think it's the racquet because Dunlop quality control has always been good, so could it be the strings?

The deviation should not be more than a couple of grams.
I'm surprised you noticed.
It may well be the frame, too. Even with good QC there can be noticable variation.
String'em both the same and compare.
You may need to add some lead weight to one, or both, to make them match.

No. Poly is consistently and considerably heavier than multi if it's in the same gauge (thickness).

poly is generally heavier but I have weighed alu rough and its the lightest poly in 1.25 that I remember ever weighing. Also someone did mention racket deviation

What is significantly more? 10g?

multi is Definitely lighter. i used the scientific scale and proved it. but different gauges contribute to weight as well.

Yea, best thing to do is weigh and balance all your racquets while unstrung, gripped the same (or ungripped if you really want to get it exact).

Then add lead tape appropriately. The difference you are feeling is most likely racquet QC, as string material shouldn't be too noticeable in weight (unless you have one in 16g, and the other 18g, etc).

Any time I try a new string, I'll weigh and balance the stick to get an idea of what has changed, to know all that could be affecting changes in performance.

then what is the lightest Multi ?

Head rip control or isospeed control classic(professional) old ones. But the Head play stiffer.... did not care for them, and while the isospeed is soft and pretty good, there is not enough feel and the ball skids on the strings...

How do you know this ?? Did you actually weight them ??:confused: You say NRG2 is one of the heaviest. then What about X-1 biphase ? is that in one of the lightest category? and what do you think about some of the Babolate Multi strings ? Are they light or heavy ?

I weighted Alu power, NRG2, Syngut, Recoil etc etc and it weights exactly same in same gauge. - guaranteed

LOL. If its 3-5g heavier per metre, you're in serious trouble! And 3-5g heavier per reel, you wouldn't notice any difference.

That was the point of my question - the poster didn't specify unit of measurement.

For example, it makes no sense to say that lead is 100 kg heavier than cotton. You need to specify a standard volume, so you can say that lead is 100kg heavier than cotton, for every cubic metre of material.

Similarly, you need to specify a length of string when comparing how much different strings weigh.

I'm guessing the poster meant per string job?

i have weighted them yeah, many years of experimenting and an analytic(crazy) mind... on my ps 85(small head) the rip control and isospeed control classic was as light as 16 grams, x1 18grams(average weight of strings imo) , natural gut and alu power the heaviest at 20-22grams. Babolat addiction was fairly heavy at 21grams.

Is the measurement for these strings 16 or 17g? I am wondering if X1 18 gauge would be even lighter.

Weigh each frame unstrung with a postal scale or a kitchen scale. Find swing weight, get back to us.
