Prince EXO3 Rebel 98 2012 - String hole grommets?

Hello dear TW Staff,
I am a bit sceptic about this info but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Are there string hole grommets for the EXO3 Rebel 98 Team model?

The reason I ask is I want to install string hole grommets on a EXO3 Rebel 98 (standard model) and I was told (on the TT message board) that the Team model has them and they fit the standard 98, is this by any chance true?

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks in advance for a prompt answer!

Automatix,

I will try my best to help you out.

Yes, there are string hole grommets for the EXO3 Rebel 98 Team. They are currently backordered and due to Prince's circumstances right now the approximate in stock date is 9/1.

Secondly, we are not sure if they will fit the Prince EXO3 Rebel 98 (standard) but we do have the string grommets for the EXO3 Rebel 98 available.

I just checked out our stock and this grommet comes with both the string and hole grommet system:

I hope that helps!

Just an fyi, when I called your customer service center, I was told the 98 team hole grommets would fit the regular 98. Also, I had asked your team to install them before shipping the racquet. So far, working like a champ! :)

So I know what the string grommets are and how it looks like, but what are the benefits? I know the feel differs (Spencer said before). Does it mean there is no more "free string movement" what the Exo3 tech is so known for? Is it just a conventional grommet system or is there still free string movement but with a different feel? Is the sweetspot smaller when you use string grommets cause there is no "free string movement" anymore?

Why would you buy a racquet with O ports if you gonna install string grommets anyways (in the sense of feel)? Im interested and curious. Do you still get the benefits of exo3 technology if you use string grommets (like big sweetspot/free string movement/great forgiveness at net)? I ask this cause I see that the Bryan brothers and Monfils all use string grommets. Thank you in advance
