GSM Tomic.

£10 on that would've got you over £100.

Tomic had an astonishing 12 break points to Nole's 1.

I guess we can safely say this won't be Novak's year...:)

Meh match from Novak but inspired performance from Tomic, this guy still may have the most potential out of all young guns if he gets his head out of his *** and commits to the game.

Yes, you can safely say that, if you're a troll.

I know the haters are going to hate but my take on the match was that while Novak was definitely not on his game Tomic played some very positive tennis, clearly showed a marked improvement in his serve and aggressive passing shots both sides and didn't look like mentally going off.

As to whether this will carry over to the AO or overseas who can say, but from what I've seen there isn't much more he could be doing right now to demonstrate he has turned his game, and more importantly his head, around for the better.

Is the speed gun in Doha rigged?

I just saw the replay of lopez-kubot and lopez served at 221 kph (137 mph). can he serve that hard or is the decive pimped?

Predict the last 8 in Australia:
Murray
Djokovic
Federer
Berdych
Tsonga
Tomic
Hewitt
Raonic/Nishikori

It`s really optimistic to pick 2 guys like Hewitt and Tomic, who won`t be seeded to go this far in the tournament.Unless they have a really good draw i won`t see it.
Usually Hewitt has a bad draw and i won`t be surprised if he draws Djokovic or Federer in the first round.

I'll wait for the draw to come out first, for all we know it's not even possible that these 8 make the QF.

Having said that, I expect Nishikori, Baghdatis and Goffin to make a run, given a favourable draw. Tomic and Dolgopolov could do it as well.

Wow the streams were playing some of Djokovic-Tomic highlights, and I must say Tomic was impressive, he's player pretty well in front of the home crowd.

Doha commentators going off about shot clock again.

TTC and ESPN should do their own on-screen shot clock. That's basically how shot spot got started, right?

I can't believe tennis is back already. Note sure if I'm alone, but I never miss tennis during the offseason. The season ends relatively shortly before the holidays and with all the end-of-the-year things going on, I just don't have time to miss it. Seems like the YEC and Davis Cup were a week ago, and now we're two weeks from the start of a Slam.

Anyone watched the mixed doubles between Serbia and Australia? Amazing match. The point where Tomic/Barty had to save match point when down 5-6 in the TB was insane. Djokovic/Ivanovic won in the end 10-6 in the super tiebreak though.

Wow Monfils just flipped out on the ump for being called for his second time violation. Monfils says he needs more time to reocver. Took more than 2 minutes arguing--should've gotten another point taken!

Only 27 seconds on the next point.

So what's the rule again, over 25 seconds then a second serve? What happens if it happens more than once, twice?

I wonder how many points it'll take Nadal before he gets a violation.

Every subsequent violation is a point penalty.

Hypothetical question is hypothetical.

The first violation is a warning. All the violations after that count as a service fault (so they have to play the 2nd serve). If the returner takes too long, then it's a point penalty, but I can't imagine that happening too often.

Ferrer vs Kamke match just heard a great quote from the commentator about Da veed. "Lions would queue up for his heart"

Murray making light work of Millman...

Really hoping for a Murray - Dimitrov final, and interested to see how The Dog vs Nishikori pans out.

Millman serving for the set, Murray breaks back, but Millman breaks again and no. 199 takes it at the second time of asking.

I really don't know why people saying Gasquet is a flashy player...
His backhand is a flashy shot indeed but that's all.

LOL Muzza lost a set against a nobody. Is this nobody favorite for AO now?

What's your point? That he lost a set? So what. He won the match. That he's not ready for the AO? No connection between the two.

Djokovic lost a match. Does that make him a rank outsider now?

Mate, if you canot post anything worthy of an IQ greater than 20 then don't post at all.

Don't forget though, it was decided that was 60% Djokovic and with his pockets full of chocolates.

He'll be back to 'Nole 2.0' and have finished his chocolate charity by the 14th.

I was taking a shot at the peeps who take these exo's so damn serious when they're just a pointless warm up for the AO. ;-)

For the top 3 right now, every tournament is a pointless warm-up to a GS. They don't want to win anything else.

Davy played some good tennis, he loves Doha doesn't he? Seems like a return of form (for a bit) to me, ever since Rotterdam last year he disappeared to nowhere, good to see him back and let's see how he'll fare against Ferrer.

Nice to have Tennis Channel showing all of the matches from Doha. Hoping for a Gasquet/Davy final.

Also nice to see Brands doing well again, I remember him playing Berdych tough in SW19 some years back. I think he played Hanescu the round before that and that's where the spitting accident occured.
