Puma clones without Estusa

graffiti terminology: "BITING" verb,adjective bite, noun biter- an artist who copies the style of another can be said to be biting or be called a biter. Ironic as graffiti itself seems locked in an intentionally anachronistic state of self biting, much like the racquet industry!!!
wish I could share the proprietary secrets I have about this, the most famous Puma bite ever....%&^$&^%$&^!!!!!!!....
didn't Puma bite volkl originally anyways??? Becker hated his estusas but my estusas are so hyphy they make me wanna haiku:

the wooden case (legendary Holzboxen ) would raise the val of this beauty, wish I had it. Boris had the BBWC specked so precisely that it literally floats thru air.
Becker had this acrobatic, elastic ballistic style, he polished off shots like no one else, like his arm was made of strong resilient rubber!!!. Sampras was able to "time him"; patiently using Beckers own ballistic spin and pace against him, forcing him to fight himself, stealing and exploiting his pace through tactical awareness and sheer experience...making the wunderkind actually admit after his beating, "he found a better way to play tennis than me", I don't believe in nationalism, Beckers honest statement simply delights me since I have classical strokes and a perfectly balanced non ballistic style (Tod Martin, Pete Sampras, Jimmy Arias...they KNEW how to play!!!)

a tiny bit of the story that I AM allowed to share: thanks to a disgruntled free thinking former German tennis champion, only 3,000 or so were ever made, each individually numbered. Each one was perfectly professionally custom matched to Boris's exact specs in every way

I did not know the Estusa World Champ series come with Fairway?? yeah.. I have 4 of these in wooden cases.. quite nice indeed.. I'll post my Boris Becker collection next..
hey pro, let's see that white puma-clone. I wanted to get the silver one as well, you have amazing taste! Jet is busting my dunlops because supposedly the BBWC's come naked and ungriped. Mine came with a fairway, again this thing is balanced and specked like an actual prostock racquet, hard to describe a bmw if you've never drove one...Hey Jet, ever thought about opening a musem, online or otherwise??? every educational (and commercial) vintage site supports our cause....
it takes alot of work and time consuming.. I really have no time.. .. I got the Boris Becker colection setup for a few months now but did not have a chance to take pictures of it.. I will try to do it this week or so.. I would love to post my Wilson collection.. regarding about Edbergs racquet.. St. Vincent bumperless, bumper, new, used and rare ones.. I hit with the bumperless St. Vincent a few nights ago wooww... I wonder why wilson just remake these for the next generation to enjoy? .. Puma are one of those great classics that has a great feel to it.. No wonder BB won Wimbledon with that..

Maybe it's strung wrong but my puma super "doesn't really work". I understand though. It's common to miss the exact tension on rossignol, fischer, puma (especially), kneissl, etc and loose substantial amounts of playability; up to missing completely the racquets true nature and intended performance and feel. Thanks to SMaupin, (an awesome stringer, collector and coach), for the Estusas in my life. I was going to make an Estusa thread entitled "Bully Killer" as these are perfect for counterpunching and disecting hard hitting shmucks. great for net play and effortless agressive shotmaking.

At the end of our last century or the beginning of this century, I had tried my friend's Estusa and also had demoed it from TW. I don't remember if it was the Power Beam or the Power Beam Pro. But I remembered that I liked it -- the feel and the shape and the color design. Back then I was a poor college student and I already was using 4 ps85, so I didn't get any Estusa.
Now, getting back into tennis again last year after a 5 yr absence, I was pissed to find out that my ps85 and Estusa were discontinued! Now when I have the money, they don't make them anymore! But fortunately, I was able to get some used Estusa at reasonable prices, unlike the ps85 which are going at ridiculous prices.
I find the slices, topspin and kick serves, volleys are better with the Estusa Power Beam than the ps85. But flat serves are better with the ps85. Both perform equally well with groundstrokes and touch shots. I love both racquets!
I would sure like to get my hands on a Puma to test it out. I wish they would still make racquets like these great classics instead of all these stiff light new racquets. The only new racquet I like is the kps88.

although they are both superb it's hard to compare the ps 85 mold to the v engine mold

Like internal martial arts the master issues power without any apparent movement or effort...puma winner is one of the most incorrectly strung and underrated performance classics of the 80's...

I also am one of the few who thinks the Estusa's outplay the Puma's.

The power beam pro is the best!
It is in between the power beam--which is more flexy and the braided
which is more stiff.
some vintage feels too whippy or heavy, not these. Estusa power beams are perfect for a modern game. Why did BB choose to sell out the image of God (shroud of turin actually reveals a small section which reads "provantech")to the devil's own widebody? I guess he chose to sell out to what he thought club players would want. I will seriously scold him for it if I ever meet him.
This is not a joke. Performance affects playability. I love the look of new racquets but stuff like Estusa is waaaay better. Even BB bought the molds as a pro player out of need for their performance. Too bad the silly krout thought he could engineer them himself. That turned into a joke and he ran for help from a the worlds greatest racquet designers.
I know I get mushy and nostalgic sometimes but I was working under NCAA coaches since 1995. Imagine if you were a cab driver and one day all the sedans and caprices turned into yugos, prius's and smart cars. That's what happened to my industry. I'm super peaved now. The Shylock upstairs better send me fame, love and or wealth quick...otherwise I will unleash a torrent of vintage thread rants so real, so insane, so midsize and so graphite, that all of you will go out and get 100's of used vintage racquets in an attempt to control the world and attain enlightenment. Dont' push me!!!!!

Pro racketeer can you give us any info on the Franco and the Fin rackets above?
Like the actaul name of these models I can't quite read them on my pc.
Also are these in your possesions? Or were they ?if so What did they play like ? Stiffer , soft head heavy, head light . Ya know the usual stuff . Thanks
