"on it" is even more annoying than "break on..."
The Gamecocks are big into that one. Must be nationwide if you hear it in the Big Ten.
BTW are you coming down to Clemson to see your women play?

Very interesting question. I would actually think they really couldn't go after him financially. Obviously, money is involved with a scholarship, but it's not really a pay-for-play contract. Unless, he signed something that says he has to pay back the dollar value of the scholarship unless he finishes the season (with exceptions of course - injury, family emergency, etc.) I don't see it happening. It's simply the risk universities take in providing scholarships for athletes.
Anyone else know about this?
I don't know the answer, just guessing. Isn't the dollar value of the scholarship more from the education side? Since this event happened right after exams ended, it seems like neither side would have a dollar issue.
Now if he quit during the school year and tried to continue taking classes (on scholarship), it seems like that would be a different story.

well, my point was that an athletic scholarship seems contingent upon being a participating athlete on a given team, regardless of what the dollar value of the scholarship pays for (right, basically making you a full-time student, and paying for your education as you say)
so is this a breach of contract where he received benefits that he needs to give back now, by paying for the free education he received? i assume KU isn't a total moron and would not have quit right now if this was the case...
so, like others, i highly doubt this will end in UGA going after him financially, but my question is simply could they if they were deservedly sore about this and wanted to strike back? maybe someone around here has signed on for one of these athletic scholarships themselves or had a family member do so?
cough - epaige - cough (obviously feel free to ignore this, as it maybe isn't an appropriate forum - but sort of a general question you might feel comfortable shedding light on)
Nothing that UGA can do now, but this does reflect poorly on KU and his ability to stay committed to the end. I know this sounds petty but if companies look at him would they want someone that quits and abandons their teammates when it suits them personally?well, my point was that an athletic scholarship seems contingent upon being a participating athlete on a given team, regardless of what the dollar value of the scholarship pays for (right, basically making you a full-time student, and paying for your education as you say)

I refuse to believe it. I saw KU at an eatery in Athens just the other day.
I went to the Georgia roster page to find out what he was majoring in, but his name is no longer there. This seems more significant than his food consumption as an indicator of his status with the team.
haha, nice
Thanks for the laugh!Well, if he was still eating food a few days ago, then that certainly disproves the story of his departure from the team.

They might have had a punchers chance to upset one of the top 4. Longshot to win if one if those teams had and injury and KU was still there. Without him their longshot chance is now a lottery players chance. Forget about them.Is Singh Critical to Georgia team to winning the NCAA title ? doesn't the Dogs have good chance to win it all this year ??? Does this now pretty much take them out of that chance ? Can they still win against these Great teams like UCLA, USC, Virginia or Stanford ?

So Singh was a great player. has this guy played Davis cup with Devvarman ?

Manny treats those guys like kings!!!! WTF!!!!
I wish i knew what happened... They will still win their first two or three rounds and probably lose to Ole Miss
me too, I was told that Coach Diaz is one of the best classiest guy in D1. so if there was anything he could have done to alleviate or correct this issue, he would have found a way.
Do you know coach Diaz ? and is this true ?
I know coach Diaz very well but i am not about to call him and ask him about this. He is a great guy and thats why people end up transferring to UGA. I will call Will the assistant coach and ask him what happened. I hate this happened because we really overachieved this year and i thought something special could happen.
True that. Dogs could have taken it all this year. It was there for the taking. Virginia--mentally weak, UCLA--arrogant overconfident bunch, USC--subpar without those leaders now. Dogs vs Cardinal could have been a Great NCAA final, a Classic.

not bad feddie but you did not summarize stanford ..

Sounds like Diaz bent over backyards.
Very selfish!!!!
Lol, ole miss is horrible - if UGA gets by a very good team like OU (which they likely won't) they should be able to get past a team that lost in rd of 16 of conference tournie (if ole miss even gets that far, a stretch in itself)
To be honest Ole Miss did beat UGA 4-3, with Singh playing, granted UGA blew a 6-1, 4-1 lead in deciding matchLol, ole miss is horrible - if UGA gets by a very good team like OU (which they likely won't) they should be able to get past a team that lost in rd of 16 of conference tournie (if ole miss even gets that far, a stretch in itself)
Mike you just don't like the SEC.

Look I am not disagreeing with you at all.and lost 4-0 when Singh wasn't there in Indoors, and lost to teams like LSU and Bama more recently than their UGA win
to me, they're not very impressive
i think many of their teams are incredibly overrated this year (UK, Ole Miss, Miss St, etc), yep, that's pretty well documented
it's also well supported by the national indoors where they won not a single main draw match that wasn't SEC vs SEC despite filling up half the field (7 of 16)
let's see how they do in NCAAs - my guess: terribly, again
it's just funny to me that we're mourning a potential title team - UGA never beat one of the four big dogs (0-2 against UCLA and OSU, didnt play USC or UVA) - they weren't ever a factor realistically, but i won't object again if you want to keep pretending from here on out
I still won't believe it until I go to the match and don't see Ku there. I will ask Coach Diaz where is KU.
Karunuday was taking 28 hours of class? How can someone even function with that many hours?
no one cares about the indoors. except Virginiai think many of their teams are incredibly overrated this year (UK, Ole Miss, Miss St, etc), yep, that's pretty well documented

look at the article KU is already in Thailand or India by now. He took/taking a flight out today according to article
I bet that there is a woman involved in this story in someway.
funny that UGA sends a live blogger there unlike most of the top programs in that case, and tons of UGA fans tune in on that to cheer on their team
i can see why KU would want to get away from the second-class fans in Athens (topdawg excluded, sorry that your company sucks) in favor of returning to a better place...you know, where the water is barely drinkable

Whos your team Mike?
