Eagnas Hawk 20e too good to be true?

It's a table top electronic stringing machine for about 300 bucks. It seems perfect, but I'm not seeing any youtube videos or reviews. Does anyone have any info on these?

You should ask whether this is a continuous pull or lock out electronic. The web site provided by your link does not say. YMMV.

As long as it pulls a consistent tension I wouldn't really mind. It's obviously good to know which it is but a lock out(provided that it pulls consistent equal tension on every string) is no "worse" than an automatic CP. Just find the tension that you like on that machine.

This is just my opinion but I believe that's only partially true. For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. When the stringer pulls tension tension is built up in the string and it pulls back. Then the string starts relaxing and the difference between the two stringers begin. Some people like the softness of the LO while others don't notice it. Some only like the strings after they loosen up a bit. I think a CP string job holds it tension better because a constant was placed on the string for a longer period.

I agree, but i also think that the time it takes the stringer to clamp off the string on a CP machine is an important factor. If you get it in 2 seconds for one string and leave the other to be pulled for 7 seconds you will lose less tension on the latter. I think there's less to go wrong on a lockout, but I do prefer the CP, as I feel that I am quite consistent with my timing. Also, with a CP you can intentionally leave elastic strings just a bit longer so their tension loss will be lower after you take it off the machine.

Anyways, if the OP finds the number on the machine that he likes, be it LO or CP, thats that :)

Yes but this is not vigourously promoted and defended by professionals!

thx for the input. i've no clue about this machine. i did have an eagnas crank that was quite sufficient. this one looks interesting from the "cheap" standpoint.
