Yea, the fxp tour in the mains with a poly cross seems to be a good idea. How would you compare the durability of the fxp tour with natural gut. I read somewhere that when one puts a multifilament in the mains and a poly cross, the multifilament snaps pretty quickly.
I have never hit with it but I've already strung about 15 rackets with FXP/N.VY. People seem to love this combo. Anywhere from 63 to 55 in tension.
Just tried it with FXP tour in the mains with Head Sonic Pro 17 in the crosses...amazing spin and power
Hi donnaypro, I'm glad that you tried this combination as I am considering trying a similar hybrid with FXP Tour in the mains and Sonic Pro Edge in the crosses. It will be the first time that I put the softer string in the mains and FXP Tour seems like it would be worth a try with that. It's nice to hear that you found very good spin as I'm hoping to increase the spin potential with the hybrid I'm using now (poly mains/syn gut crosses). If I may ask, how would you compare the spin capability of your hybrid with a full bed of poly? Spin potential is the one thing I miss most about full poly. Also how would you rate the durability of this hybrid so far? FXP Tour seems to be a pretty durable string so I am hoping that it will hold up with it being in the mains. What tension did you use for the mains and crosses. It's also nice to hear that you found good power with this combination, but that doesn't surprise me too much as FXP Tour is a pretty powerful string. Thanks and enjoy using this hybrid.
