"double qualification for the double WTF" ?

talking about pairings, i still don't have any answer to the following issue:

what happens if a player "qualifies twice" for the double masters... i mean that 2 teams containing a same player end the year in the list of the 8 qualified teams.
that's mathematically possible ! i didn't find anything about it in the rulebook... but they say participation is supposed to be manatory. ;)
... then the guy could play against himself !!! isn't that great ?! :D

but seriously, what if:
- A is playing with B during the 1st part of the year, then changes of partner and plays the 2nd part with C
- {A,B} and {A,C} are theoretically among the 8 teams qualified for the WTF
- {A,B} is ranked higher than {A,C}

... is A forced to play with B or can he choose his partner ?
(and it could be worse if several players are in this situation...)

i would like to see this happening. :)

Thats one of the best hypothetical questions.... And its realistic! I think the player would play with his current partner only. And the other guy would be screwed.

IMO Bappeti and Paes were the best Team play wise and Charisma wise. Bryan brothers are bland to me. Where as Paes and Bappiti were huge in there country and very energetic.

I used to play futures and doubles was just something to do honestly.

My question is do Doubles players at a top 10 level get Respect and a fanbase like some singles players.

From what i see, NO besides the Bryan brothers.

What do you think?

Of the times I've seen Srebotnik play, she's never lost.
It would be ronantic and nice for the Canadians to win,
and they could do it, but they'll have to step it up!

Great match with the Bryan brothers right now. It's crazy how tight doubles matches are. Always comes down to such few amount of points. More often than not, the Bryans come up with the goods (hence the reason they are #1).

Bopanna and Qureshi have reunited. Bopanna doing some heavy training in Hyderabad along with Somdev et al. He was timed over 800m.

Bhupathi says he will retire at Wimbledon, he's trying to make it to the W. He seems to be into business these days and is trying to balance tennis and business.

Townsend was pumped up in their match against Barty/Peers. I expect them to make the finals, though their opponents are strong today.

I want Date-Krumm to win more than any person in any event! It would be amazing. If she doesn't make the final, I hope the winners come from the other side of the draw as I like all 4, although sentimentally I give the edge to Cara Black.
Great thread.

Paes-Hingis reach final of AO 15 (Mixed Doubles).

Top seeded Sania-Soares knocked out in semis.

There's some talk in the papers of Paes' behind-the-back volley (that won them the point on the next stroke) at the end of a 20-stroke rally.

So Now, even in Advanced levels, Baseline can win ?

So did Fabio and Simon prove today that even in advanced and highest levels of Doubles game, you can NOW win at Baseline, and you don't need to come to net or serve and volley ???
