"double qualification for the double WTF" ?
talking about pairings, i still don't have any answer to the following issue:
what happens if a player "qualifies twice" for the double masters... i mean that 2 teams containing a same player end the year in the list of the 8 qualified teams.
that's mathematically possible ! i didn't find anything about it in the rulebook... but they say participation is supposed to be manatory.
... then the guy could play against himself !!! isn't that great ?!
but seriously, what if:
- A is playing with B during the 1st part of the year, then changes of partner and plays the 2nd part with C
- {A,B} and {A,C} are theoretically among the 8 teams qualified for the WTF
- {A,B} is ranked higher than {A,C}
... is A forced to play with B or can he choose his partner ?
(and it could be worse if several players are in this situation...)
i would like to see this happening.
