Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

Ok, then I misspoke. It is one piece of string from two main holes. Meaning, 6 and 8. It is the same string, but even that one little overlap of 7 made it next to impossible to feed the cross through the hole. Like I said, I'm new to this so perhaps it was poor wording.

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

6 to 8 creates the "block" Im talking about, laying across the outside of 7 since it is skipped. Then 8 goes to 10, and 10 gets tied off at 8 for your mains. Therefore, the string is resting over the outside of 7 and since it is already so tight, I had a problem sliding the cross through 7 (a...

What do you mean by "double block"?

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

I don't think you're understanding me. It has nothing to do with a tie off. I don't have the pattern in front of me, but the last cross comes out of a hole that is overlapped by two mains since it is a skipped hole. The tie-off is a separate issue. I'm almost positive I did it right, it's just...

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

Thanks all, so since it's hard to understand everything via text, am I understanding that you can/should put a piece of scrap string in that grommet hole while stringing the mains? Thus allowing space when backing it out for the "real" string (the cross) to follow through and over or under the...

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

No blocked holes for knots. Just for the exit for the last cross (before going back through 6T or whatever for the tie-off). The mains on either side of that grommet for the last cross overlap the hole, even though there is no string in the hole. But it makes it almost impossible to pass the...

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

Thank you both. And I misspoke, it is not a shared hole but rather a hole covered by two mains crossing over it. Since the mains are already done and tensioned I found it almost impossible to get the last cross through the hole and past the tight mains overlapping the hole. This was in part...

Bottom cross on PD Tour/Gamma Progression 200

So I am just learning how to string, using the entry level Gamma drop weight stringer. I have strung my Yonex Ezone DR98s four times with the help of very handy YouTube videos. I recently decided I am playing better with my Pure Drive Tour Plus sticks, and they needed a new string job. I am down...

    What's your racquet history?

Tinkered with/borrowed from a friend/played a horrible first set in a competitive match before switching back to a regular with? Far too many to count. Played 6+ months with: Head Ti.S5 - first lessons Head i.Prestige MP XL - my GOAT, and what I used for most of high school Prince Triple...

    Yonex Ezone DR CLUB!!!!~~~!!!

Great hitting, @Anton ! Had a bit of a souring of my relationship with this racquet for a few weeks, but trying it out again today with Yonex Poly Tour Pro. Are you guys using dampeners with these sticks?
  11. cryan87

With all the variables, how do you pick a racquet to stick with?

With all due respect, this post contradicts itself like four times. 4.5's don't care about equipment and yet tweak strings for humidity changes? LOL ...and I played Division 1 tennis, albeit in the Northeast at a weak school, but, thanks anyway on the 3.5 try. I was likely closer to a 5.5 in my...

Jack Sock and the Wristy Western Forehand

What do you guys mean by "elbow up?" Just talking about the height of his elbow in that first pic? Is that out of the ordinary? Maybe my take back is lower than I'm thinking it is, I dunno.

    I'm a mess right now.

    Great advice, thank you.

    I'm a mess right now.

This is encouraging and very relevant. I spent the last several years running and biking for fitness. I loved that it wasn't really "competitive" (unless you sought that part out). Therefore, my footwork and fitness is geared towards repetitive, "easy" movements for a loooooong time at once, not...
