neutral stance really more power than open?

The problem is that this doesn't gel with what we actually see from professional players, first of all. Only putaways, as I've mentioned, where the pro has to move into the court to hit the ball and as a result is at that point already in a closed stance, will they typically hit with closed...

neutral stance really more power than open?

This is simply not true. The few times when you see pros actually hit a forehand from a closed stance is typically (I would say 90% of the time) when they are hitting a short ball - in other words, when they've had to move forward to the shot, and are by consequence in a closed stance already...

    A backhand Question...

Huh, that's kinda weird. I guess, to answer your ultimate question, what determines which backhand he is using is how many hands he has on the racquet at contact. Borg would release one hand after contact, so that his follow-through was reminiscent of a one-hander, but at contact it was a...

How much more "modern" can tennis get?

I love that commercial. It's totally where tennis is going. Well, not exactly, perhaps, but what we've seen in the last century in all popular sports is an evolution towards more athleticism and physicality, and towards more complicated kinetic-chain techniques. In the next 10-20 years I think...

    1hb Or 2hb

Two-hander has more average power. 1hbh has a higher power ceiling due to the longer racquet path/acceleration, and higher efficiency of the motion. The two-hander is easier to control. The 1hbh provides access to more spin (a function, again, of the longer racquet path). The two hander is...

How much more "modern" can tennis get?

It's actually interesting that you bring this up, because badminton rackets have been offered in what are essentially trapezoidal varieties for years. It's not a perfect, angular square or trapezoid, as the edges are rounded and whatnot, but still. Edit: \/ \/ \/ Quiet, you. ;-) Seriously...

How much do you guys think about technique when you play?

Not too much, anymore. It used to be, when I was a worse player, that I would think about my technique on nearly every shot. "Ok take your racquet back, ok get low, push with your legs..." etc... Now if I'm thinking anything as I'm hitting the ball, it's more like, "Ok, I want to hit X shot...

How to deal with a ball that moves in the air?

Have you tried the reverse - taking the shots earlier, before they have a chance to change direction so much?

    Tennisguy777's One-handed backhand

Granted this is me coming late to the party, so I'm sure this will all have been covered, but two main things that I noted: 1) You need to prepare earlier, and have your racquet up and behind you by the time the ball bounces, rather than quickly bring it back and slapping it forward right as...

what mistakes do hackers make that pros don't

Err..we were talking about having an opponent at the net, in which case, IMO, you want the opposite of depth, since depth reduces the angle you can generate. Sure, you're not going to hit a Nadal or Federer-esque passing shot, but you can still angle a short ball far better than a deep ball.
