Prince Textreme Tour 95 string recommendations

I played with this for years going back to the Rebel 95. Although I don't anymore (Prince Tour Pro 98), I seem to remember using several setups depending on what I was doing. When I was feeding balls, I used NXT 17g @ 55 lbs. It was really a nice setup. For more competitive situations, I used ALU and Tour Bite in full beds around 48 lbs. I still miss those sticks, but I'm at an age now where it would be detrimental to my game to use them.

I don't use it anymore, but I thought gut/poly worked well in it. I was using VS Team / Tour XC 17 at around 52/48.

Full multi or gut is just unplayable - no spin at all.

Full poly only for a while until it saws-in and loses spin as well.

Gut mains-Poly cross (low tensioned) make sense.

Played with it as well until found out, that small unforgiving stringbed is awkward novadays. Playing Tour 100t ESP now and it boosts your consistency by 100%.

Thanks. Why did you end up switching? Just out of interest.

I'm a mid pack 3.5 and don't have the strokes to use it. I was leaving too much short when I was challenged. I needed an easier to use racquet. 95 is great and I wish I was talented enough to win with it

Thanks, will give it a whirl. Hyper G seems to be what everyone likes too. Used that at all?

Yeah, it's a great string. I get more spin out of it, but not as much power as I do with revolution. And since the TT95 is low powered as is..., you'll need all the help you can get. What is your playing style and rating?

Good to know, thanks. All court player, ex junior nationals level getting back into it after a long time out. Based in UK and am playing with LTA 2.1 ranked guys at the club and holding my own. Single handed backhand, heavy western forehand.

I have Hyper-G 17g in mine right now at 54/52 and it's really nice. Not the greatest feel but the racquet makes up for it a little.

Tourbite mains/Vanquish crosses was a really good set up as well as full bed of Kirschbaum Max Power rough 17g

Going to try RPM Blast rough and RS Lyon next

Trying to find mains again... cross is Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16. Used to run Volkl V-Pro Silver 16. Tension range 51/53 - 53/55. Out of Kirschbaum Super smash, PLX, and Tourna Big hitter; PLX is front runner as replacement. Pro Line II and Prince XC Tour are left to be tried.

I'm going back to my Rebel 95 monfils racket, tried kevlar/black force, kevlar/volkl cyclone 17 at 55lbs, Also tried black force/kevlar volkl/kevlar cross at 55lbs still find this racket too powerful. I'm going to try kevlar/og sheep at 57
