I don't like the wider weave mesh lateral to the toe area. My toe dragging will eat right through that and zoom cage are too wide and Asics narrow too quickly in the toe box area. What to do?

They look so garish with the larger RF symbol. Surely that was only a prototype that was nixxed?

It looks like some ideas have been transferred from basketball shoes in the way the tread wraps around the cup sole. Nice innovation. Generally, though, the design looks like a step backwards.

Maybe the design change is to accommodate incredible new comfort levels for the shoe?

Comfort was a huge thing in tennis this year with all the plush arm-friendly racquets rightly coming into vogue.

Technically less detailed, probably easier to produce and more economical, that's all.
any word on these cushioning ?? they look at least 10 % thicker than they used to be. does this mean much better cushioning than previous versions,,,,did NIKE finally listen to us consumers ?

It's probably the same cushion setup. The traction looks better on these. Overall, I like the new look. I can wait to see other colorways.

I love black and green on shoes. Missed all the latest black and greens from Nike because I had just purchased a different color!

At least they look like the front mesh won't tear behind the toe guard.

I'm interested to see how they adjust these for the Federer personal model, hard to see how they'll transfer the Federer custom outsole onto these.

They'll find a way.

Big fan of Vapor 9s, no so much on 9.5s but I'm having a tough time gravitating to the 10s.

They look cheap and watered down. Even the 9.5s look technically more finished than what I'm seeing on the 10s. I must see them in person and put 'em on my feet before I make a final decision. Maybe looking toward Asics is this is really what Nike has to offer.

As big of Nike fan as they come, but need to confirm that these will work for me. Like the 9.5s but they aren't going to last forever. Asics has far surpassed Nike when it comes to footwear.

Really was expecting a lot for the Vapor X. Nike got Tinker to pull off the 9, which they basically ran with for five years. Considering he designed the 9 (and the Oscillate), you might expect he would have been involved for the X...sounds like that wasn’t the case. Considering the Nike designers create some truly amazing basketball shoes, it looks to me at first impression like they totally mailed this thing in. This shoe looks like it could get destroyed in a couple of weeks. But, who knows until we try it? On the plus side, it looks like on social media that many Nike pros are wearing the shoe during the off season training, which could be a good sign for performance. We will see!

cant believe they went with such a bland colorway right out the gate. the blue/black colorway makes the shoe look much better.

ETA: the bred colorway looks sick!

It is a marketing strategy.

Underwhelming looks plus underwhelming colourway = disappointed customers because of high expectations.

Still it is Nike, so many people will buy just because of that.

Then better colourway appears and that along with rave reviews from hard core fans will suck the hesitating in.

It is the same old same old year after year.

This looks like it was designed in 2007 not 2017,
It's a few steps back not forward. Sorry Nike, this vapor fan is moving on.
Bye! It looks great in person AND we dont have any reviews on how it plays yet. How can you guys be so quick to dump on it?

Nike.c0m photos always make the shoe look worse than it actually is. And all white ALWAYS looks like **** regardless of the shoe model. Temper expectations if you want but damn let it come out first *eye roll*
