List of 16x20 frames

I thought it would be useful to make a definitive list of all 16x20 frames, past and present, to make it easier for fans of this less-common string pattern to compare and experiment.

This is by no means a complete list. I'm sure there are lots that I've missed out and it will take time to populate the historical frames so please add your own mentions, tell us about them in as much detail as possible, and I'll try to keep the master list at the top updated as we go.

Notes:
I haven't included any Junior or Beginner frames below 280g but feel free to mention these if you wish.
Specs are from TW wherever possible.
Static Weights are all unstrung, Balance Points, Stiffness and Swingweights are all strung.

Why not just use racquet finder?

Granted there are errors in the data base but most specs will be correct and you're not down only to the specs mentioned...

And if you ask me you should stick to either strung or unstrung specs. Mixing them up just creates confusion.
Also balance in points without length is skewed. 320mm balance gives you a different balance in points depending on length.

Yes, I used Racket Finder to gather some of the data but it only lists more recent frames sold by TW and I'd like to reach beyond that.
I decided to list the most commonly used specs only. Most companies quote unstrung static weights and strung swingweight and balance points so I went with that.
All frames are standard length unless stated otherwise.

Recent? Racquet Finder goes 15+ years back. If anything it is your list that shows recent frames.

All manufacturers give unstrung specs.

Old fischer raquets are 16x20 (pacific used fischer molds) and have great performance and quality.

You can pretty much just add the whole Pure Control/Pure Storm/Pure Strike VS line, as they're all the same mold.

Similarly, the whole Fischer/Pacific VT98/Pro No 1/X Force mold has been 16x20 (not including the 18x20 X Force Pro Pacific released), as well as the Pro Classic 98/Pro Tour 97 mold.

I think you can safely say 20+ as the Pure Control 2001 shows up in my query, as does the Fischer Rev Pro Classic 98 (which I believe was 1998?).

Apologies. You are, of course, right. When I searched Racquet Finder for 16x20 yesterday, it only showed me the currently available ones...and now I've noticed the little check box saying "Current Models Only" which must have been ticked.

This is a much better list and, as you rightly pointed out, negates the need for me to make a list here.

Well...there's still the fact that racquet finder focuses on frames that TW sells (or sold). Which is most of them. One thing that crowd-sourcing could do would be to list 16x20s *not* on TW's list. You mentioned the Diadems...there are probably others from smaller manufacturers....

This one is definitely a 16x20, however, I have the 330g unstrung version... which I'm sure is the same.

Also, you listed the Head Microgel Prestige Pro in the list... I've got that racquet, and it's a 16x19 string pattern.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but OP only listed the Textreme beast 98 O3 version. The regular 98 also has a 16x20 pattern

Head Microgel Prestige Pro - Yes, I'm sure you're right. The TW Racquet Finder had it down as a 16x20 but I can't find any other mention of a 16x20 version so I'll remove it from the list. Many thanks.

Thanks. I'll add the regular version now.

The Wilson Hyper Hammer 5.2 is a great 16x20 frame. IIRC it is foam-filled and very comfortable.

Plus you can insert 22mm for the beam width, which is described as 'Straight-Shaft'. The average cell size is 1.4cm2, so it's quite an open 16x20.

Prince Thunderbolt MP

Kneissl Aero 30C has a 16x20 pattern on a 90sqi ish frame, that is fairly open at 1.35cm2 average cell size. Very pleasant hit.

Zus 100 striker

It is no longer available but Wilson BLX Steam 100 is 16 X 20
