    Clamping the crosses

^do you notice the string moving forward into the newly tensioned string? I might just be doing something wrong or my clamps may be loose.

    Clamping the crosses

Hey, never posted in this forum but couldn't find a good search on this topic. When clamping the crosses with flixed clamps, should you release the previous clamp before reclamping the new tensioned cross or leave it on until you need it for the next cross? Reason I ask is because I've always...

Messed up cross tie off of nat gut string job

I'd normally clamp off one string before and don't string the last cross allowing you enough string to tie a knot on the other side. Wouldn't effect much... Mabye a tad softer but in my mind unnoticeable.

RDC rating on wilson six one 95 blx & kfactor versions

My guess is that Wilson's quality control is to blame for the difference between the two racquets. The reason they are so high on the label is that is unstrung stiffness. Stiffness normally drops around 6-9 points when stung which is what tw measures.

    Low tensions on gut/poly blends

Mats wilander was using gut poly at 30/25 on his donnays last summer... idk how he was playing with it though.

    Sore shoulder

I've had similar problems... just to re mention the icing daily, no serves, and softer/looser strings are a must for a week or two depending on severity. If you like anti-inflamitories then go for it to reduce some inflammation. But to the main point, after that week or two of rest i rotator...

    4G / Outlast Hybrid

Also on a more related topic, full poly or poly/poly hybrids are best for me (pure strom user aswell) when strung around 26-36lb on my constant pull machine. I was using a semi western grip but with the lower tensions i found a western was a must and have never looked back.

    I love Polystar Energy 1.20

There's a weiss cannon string that's similar as normally weiss cannon strings hold good tension. It's like super twist or something like that. I beilive it's also the same material and color.

TW, can you do either a playtest or a review of ALU?

Can someone clarify what they mean by luxilon ice is deader and softer than grey. I was under the impression those are almost always opposites. Softer = livelier and stiffer = deader.

    Luxilon 4g

Hey just checking to see if anyone knows if the sample 4g sets we received via tennis warehouse play test were changed in anyway? Like did they send out the playtest sets and then change the "formula" based on reviews?

best tension for tour bite 1.30 45lbs or so no higher ?

Tw probely strung it on a lockout setting where as you strung it constant pull making the string bed feel significantly tighter. A general rule is to stirng 10% mor or less lower on constant pull when comparing to lockout. So yes 45 would be a good place to start but you may like it a little...

    headsize! 90 vs 95

The 90 should have a bigger sweetspot due to its high weight (12.5oz) and its high swing weight. The 95 is lighter racquet but if leaded up to 90 specs it should be more forgiving.

    I hate polys!!!!

Poly strung loose plays like a dream For a good amount of time. After Mabye 10 hours my semi western becomes slightly more western but that's about it. I end up cutting them out after 15-20 hours at most.

What other strings would you recommend instead of TiMo. I'm looking for some poly crosses but something a little cheaper than lux and what tension do you use? I'm using a pure storm ltd and string it loose.

MSV Focus Hex mains with MSV Co-Focus crosses

I string all my crosses a couple pounds lower for a bigger sweetspot on my psltd. Only when using full poly though. You might also want to try a thicker gauge mains with a thinner cross. A lot of people like that and have had positive results with it.

    New Racket decision

Some of the racquets your considering changing to are significantly different in my opinion. the blx blade is extreme stiff to me and didn't feel good compared to the psltd. I haven't tried them but the k blades are supposed to be better and feel more similar to the psltd if you can find any of...
