Most important tip on the forehand technique

It's funny, most pros look like their arm is completely relaxed on the forehand especially when seeing the lag happen on the drive forward.

Most important tip on the forehand technique

Interesting. Wow, Topspin Shot i googled what you mean and was able to view this here -> http://www.tennisone.com/club/lessons/smith/lag/power.public.php?print=yes Makes a ton of sense now. And the whole 3/10 using arm is also a good pointer. What about the set-up of the hips and back foot on...

Most important tip on the forehand technique

What is the most important technique tip you know of, or can ever give anyone on the forehand that tends to arm the ball, or use too much wrist?

    Best Coaching Interventions

Oh there is one more. And this one is really really good. The guy that ran the restaurant at my tennis club came out back and watched me hit on the wall 5 years ago. And told me on my forehand to not seperate my shoulder and arm from my body as i rotate into the swing. To keep my body...

    Best Coaching Interventions

A few things from me: 1 - on the serve to hit up and through the ball into the court. Attack. It can't be just a brush, and it can't be soft or slower on the second serve. Always fast. 2 - on the forehand by having that extention in mind at all times. It starts with the takeback and ends...

    Comment on my serve, please.

no knee bend at all. bend your knees. Also you rotate your body too early into the shot. Hold the arm straight up as long as you can, and rotate your body waaaaay more as soon as the ball leaves your fingers (you'll need to adjust your toss to get this working right). Besides this your arm is...

Some hitting. Opinions and advice welcomed (VIDEO)

From seeing your video, my advice to you is purchase an ap tennis leverage band and hit with it as much as you can. Your raquet is moving too much, everything is inconsistent including the way you hit the ball and the follow through. Honestly, purchase this thing if you want your game to...

    Critique my serve [video]

how is the grip supposed to be in trophy position? i keep seeing "keep palm up" on youtube tennis serve videos, and i'm wondering if mine is being dropped early or whether i'm doing it correct. Also,.. in this video Jeff S tells the kid to keep elbow up and away. Not down...

    What's my approximate rating? (video)

    Critique my serve [video]

Thanks Chas, i actually recorded this with a 120 FPS camera, i just exported to youtube at regular speed. I'll upload a new one with slow motion. PSV255: nothing hurts on my serve, which is good. I just think i can use the full shoulder rotation a bit more, and have that arm up straighter and...

    Critique my serve [video]

also this is what i meant by "the distance between my raquet and my head as i bring it up. The pros bring it close to their head and keep their elbow tucked-in almost". Do all pros keep it close in like this?

Ok here is the bow bend that i certainly see I don't do compared to the pros.

    Critique my serve [video]

Yes almost all of them are going well in. I did hit a few in the net though. LeeD is right, i think the strikepoint and hitting at baseline or inside baseline is a reflection of my toss not being exactly in the same spot time and time again. I did notice a few things though.. that i'll post...

Thanks guys, yes sorry don't mind the foot fault i'll fix that ;) dr325i: thanks i really appreciate all of that. the tossing arm is coming down early you're totally right, and my follow through i've always found it tough to wrap all the way around like fed it always seems like i stop it i...

    Critique my serve [video]

Hi all, wondering if you can critique my serve and help me improve it. Here's what i notice: Every time i turn my shoulders more facing the opponent i typically get my serves in no problem (second serve from the side at beginning of vid you can tell my toss is parallel to the baseline where...

Out of Wilson, Babolat, and Head, which one is your favorite?

Used to be a Wilson k-factor guy, wilson all the way. But since i tried this Babolat Aeropro Drive my strokes have improved by at least 40% - unreal. I just bought one and Babolat seems to do it for me right now.

    Identify this player!

It's Peter Polansky. A Canadian player, he was known for falling off a 5 or 6 story hotel during a sleep walking incident a while back. He's okay now.

    more power

weight in the head, drop tension; look at your overall racket weight. But.,.. I would personally focus on technique after or before that for more power. Coil your body in the most effective way then uncoil on shots if you want alot of power besides using methods to your racket.
