Well i wanted a good multi for around $9 or fewer if thats possible. How does Mantis comfort Synthetic play? and is it worth it?

What is the best multi that does not cost too much?

well.. the racquet is not a soft frame.. it has a stiffness of 67 which is pretty up there.. and you should search for a shaped string for crispness and bite.. maybe you can try volkl cyclone 17

IF babolat hurricane feel is what you are looking for in a string, then its a nice match.

I play with my strings until they break usually.. but right now im trying black widow/prince syn gut hybrid and i hate it... so im going to cut it out.

If you have had x-1 biphase for a year, then you are not a string breaker. Multifilaments are not durable. You should try a synthetic gut like prince syn gut with duraflex.

I got the 18x20 because it felt a lot more stable and more control oriented.

I play with the Blx 6.1 98 18x20.. solid stick and good control.. and fun to play with.

I have the 18x20.. its a solid, stable stick... best part is up at the net because of the high weight.. but you should try it for a week or so because the weight may cause shoulder/elbow problems.

I have used Pro Line II and to me.. it matches your description of a softer side copoly that generates good amount of spin and power.

Will two overgrips make a big difference? And I can try stretching the first overgrip to prevent that from happening.

I'm going to keep the first overgrip on my racquet clean and then add another overgrip and keep replacing that second over grip.. maybe that will help the smell hahaha. :)

I need to build the size of my handle a bit... i was thinking of using 2 overgrips, one on top of anoher... will the handle be too cushiony? does anyone use 2 overgrips on their racquet?

I felt the same way :D. I thought the racquet felt dead and I thought i didnt get much feel at the net.. but after playing and getting used to it, i love the specs.. the feeling and the stability of the racquet, especially at the net.

I agree with the others.. i would let her start with a syn gut like Prince Synthetic Gut and once she gets better, she will have specific needs from her string.

For the Most control, i would probably go for the Wilson BLX Six.One Tour 90.. but the head size is a little harsh so i would also recommend Wilson BLX Six.One 95 18x20

for synthetic gut, if you're looking for a full bed, then try the famous Prince synthetic gut.. and if you're looking for a syn gut to hybrid, try og gosen micro... and a good multifilament string is Technifibre Biphase

Well, if u like the string, you can lower the tension so your arm will not get sore.. and if u want to completely change strings, i recommend RPM Blast or Pro Line II.

one more question, do i need a starting clamp to string racquets? should i buy one?
