Thick gauge low tension vs thin gauge high tension

I love gut/poly but the weather in the UK is too wet or humid too much of the time for it to be viable all the time. I have a couple of racquets strung with gut/poly all the time for when conditions are dry. Mixing gauges is something I haven't tried actually.

Thick gauge low tension vs thin gauge high tension

I also usually string this at 50lbs

Thick gauge low tension vs thin gauge high tension

I was wondering what the main differences would be between the two? I don't particularly have the cash to keep experimenting so would like some info on people's experiences. I am looking at 1.30mm gauges and comparing to 1.25mm and 1.20mm gauges for a poly string. My favourite string so far...

Can i make a LM Radical MP to become a LM Radical Tour

Hi Haegger, Whereabouts are you located? I might have a LM Radical Tour for sale if you're in Europe.

Yonex Tour G 330g with max gauge string

Good to know, I just picked up one of these racquets, I might have to give this gauge a whirl. I used Focus Hex in the past and was impressed. Moved on to stiffer poly mains (Topspin Cyber Flash) but I don't think this will suit the Tour G. Roll on summer!

Robbie Koenig : 2 majors for Novak and 1 for Andy in 2017

You can do this on the Eurosport App if you select the court and not the channel (eurosport 1, 2). It's glorious, made the AO final much better not having to listen to Wilander's mad ranting.

Custom Paint Job - Wilson Pro Staff 95

Hi jgun, Just wondering how the paintjob is holding up? I am thinking of doing my own repainting project and was looking at whether it was worth adding a couple of layers of lacquer after the spray paint to prevent chipping?

Head Radical Racquet Customization Paint - Pretty Easy!

This looks great! A couple of questions now that it's been a while: 1. Has the paint chipped at all? Would you say it's fairly hard wearing? 2. In retrospect, do you wish you had applied any clear lacquer to it? I am doing my own blacked out paintjob, I have sanded down my racquet, just...

    Pro's pro syn gut characteristics

I once used it in a full bed and it was very nice. It's on the softer side of the syn gut spectrum. Probably 60% soft, 40% crisp. Decent power, standard spin for a syn gut. Quite linear in its response too (you get out what you put in in terms of power). If I had to compare it to another syn...

Wilson Pro Staff 95 2012 or 2014 is a nice whippy stick especially with a leather grip.

    The Official Angell Users Club

Can anyone compare the Dunlop Aerogel 200 (or any of the 200 series) to an Angell TC95 18x20 of similar spec?

THE MIGHTY PRO STAFF 90 THREAD

I'd like to see an all black one but with fine red stripes. Similar to the 2015 Blades but with red instead of green. Maybe even a gold Wilson logo like the 2010 BLX Six One Tour. Might be a bit too much though.

    2010 vs 2012 pro staff 90?

Depends on what you're looking for. The 2012 is more comfortable, more manoeuvrable and overall easier to use. However, for a pro staff it feels slightly disconnected from the ball (although obviously much better than other racquets). The 2010 has more plow and power and a dampened feel. It's...

Top 5 most fun to watch players outside the top 10.

I only really watch men's tennis but the ones I can happily tune in to are: Del Potro Tsonga Monfils Paire Verdasco If you like watching a joke of a player self destruct then feel free to watch Kyrgios ;)

What would be the worst story line for this USO?

I don't want to be the one to say this, but "Del Potro pulls out with wrist injury" would be the worst possible scenario.

    The Blade 93 (2013) thread !

I've used Pro Staff 90, IG Prestige MP and BLX Blade 93 and the Blade is definitely the most powerful of them all. Blade is definitely the most versatile and has the biggest sweet spot. IMO, the Blade is the best of the three on defence. Spin is good but not as good as the 90 and not very...

I am searching for a Solinco Hyper G alternative

+1 on MSV Focus Hex Found it superior to Hyper G in every way except maybe a slight reduction in spin Feel is a lot better on Focus Hex in particular

Racquet of the month club: A thread for raqaholics:

So I did channel the spirit of Nadal with my AeroPro Drive. After my first hitting session with the thing, my elbow twinged for the first time in around 18 months. Shame, it's so forgiving and generates loads of spin. So light and whippy I hardly have to get my feet into position. Very jarring...

That is a thing of beauty. If the paint ever scratches on mine and I have somewhere to do it, e.g. a shed I will be seriously tempted to do this.

    Knee strengthening exercises

Cool, I'll look into this. I used to have a right gluteal tendinopathy a while back. I focussed my physio (similar to the exercises on the Gluteus Mediums) on my right side so perhaps this is some lingering weakness from the left side. I've heard compound movements help everything in a...

Would anyone rather have a career where they won 10 masters, or 1 slam?

I'd rather have 10 masters because I am quite averse to the idea of fame. I was walking across Hungerford bridge in London just before Wimbledon started and Victor Troicki walked past me, no one recognised him except me. I would like to be the kind of person who could walk through a crowd and...

    Knee strengthening exercises

I'd not heard of IT band syndrome, thanks. Seems to fit, the pain isn't large or anything and goes down if I rest for a few days but flares back up after playing a couple of days of tennis. I just did a quick google and seem to have found what I was looking for...
