Injured during the summer as a Rising Senior?

Thank you for your responses! I am about to film my recruiting video for these coaches and I'm planning to update them about my plans at the same time I send over the footage. I am aware of the pre-read process (a couple of other D3s have asked me for my info already), but I have one main...

Injured during the summer as a Rising Senior?

Hello! I am going to be a senior next year (class of 2020) and am obviously heavily dealing with recruitment currently. I broke into the top 115 nationally on TennisRecruiting and had a UTR of 11.36 this June. However, I got injured during the spring high school season this year, and I haven't...

Fed might be injured - Not sure about Fred though

    Emailing College Coaches?

I understand what you are saying completely - the amount of time that DI tennis requires is definitely something that is actually making me consider DIII tennis more than DI tennis. I appreciate the advice nonetheless :) - I know I should be emailing coaches soon if not now but I'm concerned...

    Emailing College Coaches?

I know that my D1 choices are definitely stretches but I still have 2 years until I actually get to college to get my UTR up and a couple of those schools are going to be losing a lot of seniors the year that I'm graduating from high school so I'm hoping that at least one of them will give me a...

    Emailing College Coaches?

I'm a 4-star recruit from the class of 2020 (so currently a junior) with a UTR of 11.35. Having started out the summer at 290 in the TRN rankings and 10.45 on UTR, I think I've definitely been impressive over the past few months and I believe that there is still more improvement to come. In...

"Realistically, it’s over for Novak Djokovic"

Haha I've just never bothered getting into it - I've never really been into super fantasy worlds and all of that stuff - I've never watched/read Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, or even the Avengers until about 2 weeks ago o_O

    Wimbledon Seedings

Ummm... Wimbledon's seeding policy had NOTHING to do with the fact that Nadal and Djokovic were on the same half of the draw... Without the special seeding policy, Djokovic would've been seeded 17-24, meaning that he would've had to face someone seeded between 9-16 in the 3rd round, and a top 8...

I’ve tried em all (almost) -the best shoe on the market is the ASICS Gel Res 7

Been using the Gel Resolution 7s for about half a year now... I fell in love with them just like you! Great all-round shoe and I really have no major complains about it

NTRP ratings seem more and more weird to me

My point was that I agree with the OP in that NTRP rankings are simply not good enough for finding competitive matches so yep you are exactly right. UTR tournaments I've heard often split players into groups of about 4 based on UTR so that every player in each group has similar UTR's to one...

    Early Prediction: TOP 8 YE2018

Ugh, just the thought of Zverev being ranked above Federer sickens me :(

    Early Prediction: TOP 8 YE2018

Wouldn't be surprised if Kevin Anderson makes it into WTF though. Sure, I don't think many people would be overjoyed to see him, but he's relatively consistent throughout the year and is bound to have some confidence going into the US Open.

Which of the "NextGen" will obtain the highest number of majors?

Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic have to retire someday... although it's looking like that day is stretching farther and farther away... Who will shine the brightest during the post-Big 3 era?

    Early Prediction: TOP 8 YE2018

*Bump* Funny to see all of the high hopes for Murray/Zverev/Shapovalov and how many people thought Fed and/or Rafa would drop outside of the top 4. Also, did everyone manage to forget that Cilic and Del Potro existed???

    Is Bryan/Sock better than Bryan/Bryan?

Now Mike Bryan is individually the oldest doubles world #1 in history... without Bob :(
  19. T

    Is Bryan/Sock better than Bryan/Bryan?

Bob injured his leg I believe in Madrid final and ended up having to retire from the match. He told Mike to keep on playing without him in order to stay in good form and Mike and Jack ended up winning Wimbledon! :O

    Is Bryan/Sock better than Bryan/Bryan?

I don't disagree with that, however I'm not certain whether or not he actually forms a better team with Mike Bryan than Bob. However, he is definitely currently a better individual doubles player than both of them in my opinion.

    Is Bryan/Sock better than Bryan/Bryan?

Obviously the Bryan brothers are the best doubles pairing in history, but they're both 40 years old now. Do you guys think the Bryan brothers would've won Wimbledon if they had the same draw that Mike Bryan and Jack Sock got this year? Is Sock currently a better partner for Mike Bryan than Bob...

NTRP ratings seem more and more weird to me

You're completely right - just checked the UTR website and a 4.0 NTRP is a 5.0-7.5 UTR, a 5.0 NTRP is a 8.0-10.0 UTR, and a 5.5 NTRP is a 9.0-11.0 UTR (all male NTRPs). My point still stands though, that's a huge range for each of those NTRP rantings

Fed Fans - Is this the beginning of the end?

Is time running out for this great legend? Many ruled Federer out 3-4 years ago, but he proved us wrong at the AO last year. But it's different this time. Federer is almost 37 years old and losing to a relatively one dimensional Kevin Anderson after having match points to win in straight sets...

Federer Fans - Are you more worried about Fed Slam Count Over Nadal than Ever Before

Exactly what I have been saying all day on different platforms - The player with the highest percentage of matches in history where he wins more points than his opponent but still loses is... Roger Federer. He holds easily the majority of the time and gets close in his opponents service games...

    Roger's 2018 Wimbledon is WimbleDONE

Honestly if he's feeling what a lot of us are feeling... that time is running out... he might want to play Roland Garros in 2019. Many ruled him out 3-4 years ago (including us, Federer's fans), but he proved us wrong last year. However, at age 36 and very soon to be 37, it truly feels like...

    UTR shows NO matches

Unfortunately if the tournament/league you are playing in does not submit matches to UTR there seems to be no real way to have those matches count towards your UTR... If you really want to obtain a UTR I'd recommend playing a couple of USTA tournaments (ones with players that are close to your...

    Fed Put in his Place

Huge Federer fan here - Imo Federer v. Anderson and Djokovic v. Nishikori will probably be almost equally entertaining In the past 12 months, Federer has played every single one of his matches at the tournament's main court. Every. Single. Match. I think he can survive just playing one match...

Anyone else hate playing doubles ?

People who don't know how to properly play doubles hate doubles - People who know how to properly play doubles love doubles Not a dig at the OP but if you really find yourself not enjoying doubles you should try to learn from a more experienced doubles player about strategy and shot selection...

2018 Wimbledon QF: [2] Nadal Vs. [5] Del Potro

Depends on Del Potro's backhand and his mindset imo. If he's gonna keep slicing 75% of his backhands he has no chance against the huge lefty spin from Rafa. But if he figures he's more tired than Rafa and he's not going to beat Rafa at the "grinding game" anyway and decides to play more...
