tennis elbow: celebrex vs other nsaids

I don't normally comment on TE threads (I have other problems to worry about these days) but my personal experience is as follows: I had TE about 3 years ago, started on day with a twinge after playing against a hard hitter and catching a few backhands late. I didn't think much of it and kept...

Oscar Wegner Forehand is the same as Table Tennis Topspin Loop

FWIW I played national level TT as a teenager and can guarantee that there is very little that the 2 strokes share. In TT there is minimal core rotation compared to tennis. In TT the contact point is so late that you would struggle even with a conti grip. Using the style of play shown in the TT...

How to learn the straight arm forehand?

+1 I have straight arm FH technique and when it's "on" it's great when it's "off" it makes life very very frustrating. You don't have to be off by much either. I would trade for a more consistent bent arm in a heartbeat.

    Stabbing at Volley's

Nice vid, the forehand volley he hits @ 0.35 is just like a push through the ball no backswing at all.

    Wrist deviation for topspin

Chico if I read it correctly the OP is talking about ulnar to radial deviation as well as pronating from a supinated position. 1st there is way too much going on with the wrist to produce shots of any consistancy. 2nd it will lead to injury. BTW when you wave you are pronating and...

Normal in a PK Kinetic Pro 5G ?

there should also be material in the hoop and throat, I have a Ki5 with exactly the same problem (bought it 2nd hand so for me it has always been like that).

    Pro Kennex Quality?

Hi Basil, you can tell where the sand is by shaking the racket close to your ear. On 2 of them there is a distinct noise from the to of the hoop and throat area (as well as the handle) the 'dud' only has sound coming from the handle. The 3rd one is brand new to replace the other noisy one...

    Pro Kennex Quality?

I have 3 x Ki5 rackets but only 2 of them have the 'magic sand' in the hoop and throat area. The odd one out only has it in the handle! Is there any explanation for this other than poor quality control? BTW the one with the missing 'sand' was bought from the states the other two were from...

    Starting Clamp Question

If you're in a bind (or until you get a new one) you can cut a piece of emery cloth (quite fine), fold it and slip it into the clamp. This has worked on my clamp for a while now.

Can you make a Pro Kennex 7G Grip Smaller?

Ha, with a 7 week old baby you might want to look elsewhere. I can always organise cheap accomodation.

Can you make a Pro Kennex 7G Grip Smaller?

You shouldn't, it truly is a world class city, great holiday destination. Plus you can bring me a bag of tennis goodies...:) TW Europe doesn't ship to SA whereas TW (states) does...go figure? By the time you add in shipping and import tax you can pretty much double the price that you guys...

Can you make a Pro Kennex 7G Grip Smaller?

Agree with scotus, I have a 41/4 PK Ki5 that I need to build up to 4 3/8. Took the original grip off last night and it is hollow graphite. PK rackets are very rare where I live so selling and buying a 43/8 is out of the question.

    Resources for Complex Wrist Problem?

Getting keys out of my pocket and using a mouse all day (have switched both to left hand) can get mine going, not to mention tennis! Oh forgot to mention I also had a cortisone shot which worked wonders (and confirmed to the surgeon the exact location of the problem) but the pain has come back...

    Resources for Complex Wrist Problem?

Sorry for the delay, we had our first baby a few days after my last post. Been busy to say the least! I had TFC debridement and ulnar shortening (arthroscopic) in June last year. It did take a long time (6 months) for that area to settle. Unfortunately now I would say I have developed a...

    Resources for Complex Wrist Problem?

Jon, any update on your condition? How long since you procedure? I had the same procedure (ulnar shortening and TFCC debridement) last July. It's been a long road with some other complications but there is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Best B

    Prince 0 HOLEES......arrrrghhh

I strung my Ex03 Tour last night, didn't have an S-hook so I used a nail. Cut off the top and bottom, bend twice at 90 deg (you can measure the distance to match the ports of your prince) with an offset of 90 deg. smooth any rough edges so as not to damage the racket. Worked a treat! (I still...

Tie off main to main and X to X?

Hi guys, thanks for the responses. Also pretty cool to have Rogers stringer comment here! (side note: I was watching his demolition of Nadal in the 2010 WT final last night ;-) I know most (all) of you recommend changing the strings as a set, I don't want to start that debate here. The...

Tie off main to main and X to X?

Hi Irvin, I agree about opening two grommets on most frames, I've never done this is it a big deal? The point about changing either the mains or X is to do it before they break i.e cut them out with the racket mounted in the stringer. If you break a string on the court then I would cut...

Tie off main to main and X to X?

Hi all, I know this is possible (well on an O-port racket at least) but I just wanted to get your opinions on why it isn't more common as it would allow you to change either mains or crosses independently. Lack of a tie off hole? What do you guys think?

    Gut mains/Nylon crosses Report Thread

That's strange, I tried this out on the weekend (Volkl Gut @54 and RIP C @52) spin wasn't a problem but I had the exact same experience as others in this thread, occasionally a ball would sail or only make it half way up the net but the shot 'felt' good. Also any time I tried to crank a...

    Stringing a Blackburn

So I saw my friend last night, he finished the racket. He found the best way was to feed under a main and grab with pliers. Took him over 21/2 hours! If he ever breaks a string again I'll lend him my stringing machine again ;-) Thanks for the replys.
