Looking for a hit in SD during my stay. I'm probably going to be staying in the Chula Vista area but I'll have a car. I'm a 45 yo teaching pro from STL and would love to get some hitting in. I'm aware of Balboa but would love to not spend money to hit(trip is expensive:)) Would prefer to hit in the morning but I'd be open to early afternoon as well. Let me know!! Thanks!

Please IM me through this forum. I should be free Fri evening through Sun, and can put together other players from this forum. I belong to a club with lighted courts and guest privileges.

In return for a good serving tip of course :)

Two options:

(1) I can get you one free guest pass at Balboa if you want to play there;
(2) If you're up for a little adventure (and you bring your passport), I can pick you up at the border and we can play on my clay court about 15 minutes south of the border.

You really should link to the thread of how you built that court. That would entice me to cross the border.

If it's that nice I'm might not return across the border!

So I sent an IM to Navigator couple of days ago stating what an generous offer but that I'm without a passport. Damn!! Saw the court and I'm in just in awe. Paradise! Back in the day I remember (sort of) having a couple drinks in San Diego, 10 more on Av Revolución Tijuana and waking up in beach house Rosarita. Would love to get back there!

Two options at this point:

1) Expidite your passport
2) Contact @sureshs and play in San Diego

Or do both! Enjoy whatever happens.

You built a court!? That's impressive!

Shame most (all?) car rental companies in SD explicitly forbid you from crossing the border with the car

How close are you to Playas de Tijuana? I don't know why I thought you were a little farther south. Your location seems super convenient at only 15 minutes from the border.

I'm where the red star is, five minutes south of Las Playas (which is at "First TOLL Booth" on the map) and five minutes north of the first Rosarito exit. (The map's not to scale.)

Thanks but the only thing impressive about it was the patience required and the mountain of BS I had to navigate. And that was forced upon me, so...

Indeed although it's likely for your own good. Major thoroughfares are constantly closed down here without warning or detour signs. If you don't know your way around it would be easy to get lost for hours and end up in unsavory places. Also, once you get off the highway, the roads are sh1t for the most part and fellow drivers "erratic" to put it mildly. If I owned a rental car company I wouldn't let folks drive a car down here either.
