I use a babolat pure drive plus, and the varsity tennis season is almost underway. i have had a grommet chip off and slide down the string twice now. the first time, i ordered a new set of grommets off here, and then drove an hour to the mall to have them replaced and the racket restrung. now it has happened again. is there a quick remedy for this or do i need to replace the whole thing again? and is it necessary for the string to be cut in order to replace the broken grommet? please lend me any assistance, i need it, thanks.

Yes, you have to remove the strings to replace the grommet strip. If you only have one busted grommet maybe you can use some tubing to remedy the situation.

thanks loud...so just because this one little piece chipped and slides down the string, i need to pay for new string, the restringing, and the replacement grommets? if that is the case everytime this happens, that is pretty lame. do u think its just by coincidence that it has happened twice? because no one on my team has ever heard of that happening, yet it has happened to me twice. thanks for your help, i really appreciate it

Just cut off the small dangling piece and play until the strings break. After they do that, just use a tubing where the grommet busted.

thanks loud, just one more question...how would i cut the piece off? i tried doing this using a knife, but it wasnt working. and the way it is around the string, how would you do it without breaking the string?
