Hi!
A question for those who have a KPS 88. Could anyone fullfill my curiosity, and tell me what are the measures (in cm. if possible) of the head of the KPS 88, as well as of the length of the throat?

This info would be appreciated.

I can't give you exactly the info you want, but I have a K90 and a KPS88 and both frames seem to be identical. The 88 is just a bit heavier.

But judging by what I've seen on this forum, some people can certainly give you all the information you need ;)

Thanks a lot for the reply. The thread VGP kindly passed on to me confirms what you say. But my concern was a little bit different. The thing is that I've tried out of a friend of mine a KPS88 which he bought from a suspicios internet place for a very good price, the playability felt really good, but it seemes a little bigger than I expected. I was considering to try to buy one and therefore just wanted to know the measures before ordering more of them. Could you pass me the following 3 measures of your K90?:
1. The measure from 9 o'clock to 3 from the inside part of the frame to inside (in cm. if possible)
2. The measure from 12 to 6.
3. And the throat height.
I guess your measures will be very close to the KPS88. Your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Okay, I only had an old folding meter stick, but I tried my best...

K90:

From 3 to 9 = 22.8

From 6 to 12 = 31.9

Throat = about 4.5

It's exactly the same for the KPS88.

I'd suggest putting it on a scale. There aren't many racquets with this high a static weight.

I guess these measures are in centimeters? Thanks a lot for the effort.
Movdqa, I have also considered this option but I don´t have such a precise scale and do have a normal ruler, but thanks for the suggestions.

When I want to weigh my racquets, I just go to the local post office where they have electronic scales. It looks a bit odd to others when you are waiting in line with a few tennis racquets in your hand but they've always been more than happy to do the weighing for me.

I wouldn't think that the KPS88 would be counterfeited as the popularity of it is probably very, very low. My guess is that this is why they are discontinuing the model.

One other thing of note: the variance to spec may be very wide - this is typical Wilson. I have three models that weigh 12.7, 12.9 and 13.1 ounces stock. There's an acceptable variance for balance too. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a small variance in length or even headsize.

I always buy from Tennis Warehouse and don't worry about fakes. The KPS88 should be going on deep discount within the next year as Wilson phases it out. I plan to pick up an additional one or two when this happens.

Yes, everything was in "cm".

Wilson's quality control is so poor. You think you have a few identical rackets but in reality.....

Yeah, my 2 K90s feel like two different racquets.

If you want matching, you need to use their matching service or be willing to play around with lead.

Post pictures. I can tell you directly if yours is fake. I know every variation of fake kps88's.

I would post the pics, but a I said, I'm planning to get one from the same place a friend got it, so I don't actually have it in hands. But thanks for the offer.

You can pick up KPS88 in Australia for AUD149 (approx US$130) at reputable retailers - they were $199 and didn't sell at that price hence the drop. Good option to get a couple of these at an awesome price.

I measured mine.
Assuming string area for the head.

width = 9.5 in ~ 24.130 cm
length = 12.5 in ~ 31.750 cm

throat length = 7 in ~ 17.780 cm
