Alpha Pioneer DC Plus

Is the Alpha Pioneer DC the cheapest machine with fixed clamps out there? I was going to buy myself an x-2 for Christmas but decided to hold out until I get that beautiful tax check and maybe get something a little better as I will be using it for a long while.

According to what? Some constant pull machines tend to pull calibrators a little tighter than lock downs.

I think I remember a thread here, some time ago, about someone who had problems with the Hercules as well (calibration) and had to go through some pretty complex tweaking to get it to work correctly.

Yea I'm reading through that thread right now, it kind of puts me off a bit. I'll probably just bite the bullet and dish out the extra 100$ for the Alpha, either that or get a Progression II and order some clamps from KlipperUsa. It's good to have that piece of mind when ordering from a reputable company and I'm willing to spend a bit extra for it.
