am I the only one who likes not having crowds

No you are not the only one!
Here are the things I like and dislike:

Likes:
1. Like the overall quiet.
2. Like the less frequent toweling excuse
3. Faster pace of play (because of quiet)

Dislikes:
1. Fake crowd noise
2. Face mask b.s.
3. Mary Carillo piped into one of the matches. :(

I absolutely like that there are no fans in the stands. The games move along faster and there is less overall BS going with the matches. I know some of the players like the energy from the crowd, but I like that it's just tennis and not a circus.

I can’t say I don’t like having a crowd. But I miss having a crowd a lot less than I thought I would. I also don’t like gimmicks like piped-in crowd noise, fan cam TVs etc.

Would you like it better if all people currently allowed to participate were at the same time prohibited from wearing face masks?
No.
There are so few people in the stands it's ridiculous to wear masks!
They should have a choice (and it seems they do, because I've seen quite a few without masks).

I would always be wearing a mask, so I don’t need to worry so much if some unmasked person (I just changed this last word) decides to sit or stay near me.

You dont like waiting for play to resume because someone with a large coke, hot dog and popcorn are still walking to their seats?

Crowd is terrible in many ways, especially at the us open during actual play.

The little of the Open that I've watched this tournament, I haven't liked it. I wish the crowds were there.

Get out and enjoy life instead of believing all the fear porn
your government throws at you 24/7.

The CDC admitted last week that less than 10,000 Americans
have died of the virus, not 195,000 as they have been pumping at you for weeks!

96% of those 195,000 were on their death beds already with other serious life-threatening diseases.

If you don't believe me (which most probably won't) read it for yourself

Someone doesn’t understand what comorbidities are

The majority of people have a pre-existing condition.

Those people would still be alive had they not contracted the virus. They still died because of it

Your own god emperor president just admitted he knew it was dangerous from the start and purposely downplayed it!

And we’re the sheep!?

I understand exactly what comorbidities are.
You are basically correct, but I would change that to the overwhelming majority.

'Those people' were dying plain and simple. They were basically on their death beds.
All of the people (99.99%) scurrying around like timid sheep wearing face masks are NOT on their death beds.
Agree?

Those 99.99% of the earth's population will not die if they catch the virus.

You don't know where I live, so please don't make any assumptions.

Incorrect
Those 99.99% of the earth's population will not die if they catch the virus.

Also incorrect. And even if it were accurate, 99.99 percent of people would not come away scot free with no longstanding complications

But let's try something else: why are you so adamant about not wearing a mask? Is it really that big of an inconvenience? Does it really affect you personally that much?

Well there's me personally and there's everyone else (face masks).

I personally won't wear one because I need to breathe in oxygen (not CO2) to stay healthy.

As for everyone else...
Here are just a few health and psychological downsides:

Health:
- restrict your oxygen intake
- increase the amount of carbon dioxide you're breathing back
- make you susceptible to an increased amount of bacteria that accumulates from what you’re breathing
- break down the polypropylene components of the face mask, breathing in those toxic components and creating a histo toxic, hypoxic injury
- increase your cortisol levels, driving you into the 'flight or fight response' that suppresses your immune system
- increase your own susceptibility to the following pathogens: virus, bacteria, spirochetes, microplasma, yeast, fungi, parasites.
- stress your body out.
- make your body weaker.
- make yourself hypoxic.
- increase the risk of gum and teeth disease.
- risk death due to the reabsorption of carbon monoxide and/or fainting with a fatal concussion.

Psychological:
- are meant to condition the populace into a state of compliance
- lead to a state of perpetual fear
- are a form of asphyxiation
- are meant to muzzle the populace, figuratively and literally, to prevent natural discourse.
- are a form of psychological intimidation
- are a form of social barrier, to prevent exchanges of ideas and camaraderie
- cover facial expression, preventing people from detecting emotions of others.
- are dehumanizing
- are degrading
- are demeaning
- condition people into a form of submission
- are a form of psychological humiliation
- create psychological insecurities
- make people self-conscious
- lead to alienation in society
- will lower the populations' immunity and leave them vulnerable to a second wave of the pandemic

Yeah ... you are the one only one ... or is that the one and only 8-B

Actually ... I took the "no crowd" to the next level ... I muted Chrissie Evert yammering about Serena ... what a relief.

Well. We don’t use masks in Sweden for instance , we just use common sense and keep the distance.

Good for you!
I have never worn a mask in my life and will never.
That's fine but your autonomy to make that kind of decision ends with a contagious disease.

Defiant people who have their nose sticking out of a mask is pretty much the equivalent of telling a small child to stay in their room, so they put a foot on the hallway carpet to spite you. Obtuse adults (and I use that term loosely) don't like being told what to do.

This has to be satire because if it isn't .... well ... let's just hope the doctor who is trying to save your life doesn't pass out at a critical time.
I forwarded your contact info to my conspiracy-theorist neighbor. You two could be a ton of fun at parties.

I can't reply to it because it was too much information for me in my current mask wearing oxygen deprived state. I saw enough to go put my mask on in order to keep reading that post. I do avoid mask degradation by spraying the inside with Lysol, and stuffing some battery LEDs near my cheeks.

Hope you are doing well.

Oh yeah we’re doing just fine... [emoji41]

But seriously, we can’t get masks for the things we need such as at work finishing guitars. I mean. What dumb f*ck buys a active coal charged mask to go shopping?!

"We" must not include grandma.

It's times like this that I appreciate the internet and the Atlantic Ocean in our friendship. 8-B 2020 SUCKS!!!

No. We isolate people in risk groups that have underlying diseases or old fragile people. When I look at what’s happening over there I’m also glad the pond is there to protect us.

I didn't even want to dignify it with a response. He doesn't know how gas exchange works, clearly, because if he did he'd understand that the air we inhale contains 21 percent oxygen and the air we exhale contains...wait for it...16 percent oxygen. Or that air passes easily through masks. They're designed to block droplets. Or that if this dude is near a carbon monoxide leak, with or without a mask he's not safe. And if he's exhaling carbon monoxide, he's got bigger problems

Maybe a CO leak does explain it, actually

It's awful without fans and I can't stand NY crowd.

-i got a chance to go to the usopen 1x time (it was a nice experience)
-the rest of the other years that i've watched it, it has been on tv!!,
-soo, not much has changed for me in that regard,
-ill live without fans for this year, no problem

-if we make it through this, this will be one of those moments in time that we can talk about

The world as a whole has been conned big-time with this 'pandemic'.
Watch Event 201 carefully.
Watch how they ran through their exercises in preparation for this 'pandemic' just a couple of months before the 'pandemic' started.
Watch how they named their special pandemic virus the "coronavirus".

No thanks. This is an argument I don't wish to participate in. I made my point and it's time to move on. I don't need to be fed all the information when it is as simple as doing the right thing for the greater good. As Spock said, " ... the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few ... or the one." If you want to puff out your chest and be defiant, that's your business. :) It's when your defiance leads to you unknowingly passing it to someone simply because of your stubbornness that it becomes a problem for someone else. It's really not going to affect YOU, is it? ..... until it does.
