Opening event of new centre court at Wimbledon on BBC TV now. Well worth watching. I am wattching the mixed right now and it is a good humoured joy to watch. Almost as though Steffi has never been away. She is still hitting the ball and looking great.

Really enjoyable stuff, both guys were playing some nice tennis and it's all being played in a great spirit.

I'm hoping this means Steffi and Kim are playing next or did they play earlier?

Just watched, I know the emphasis is on Clijster's return, but the Graf forehand and footwork is still a thing of beauty..

Couldn't agree more. I saw a recent interview with her and Andre and they said they only got to hit about once a month - so with Steffi having being retired for so long I was not expecting much but she hit and moved beautifully and certainly still gets a lot on her forehand. She caught Kim off-guard with it several times. She also looked to be really enjoying it and even, jokingly, asked for a wildcard to this year's Wimbledon in the on court post match interview. The president on the AELTC was nodding like crazy in response to that !
