Andy Murray's Racquet Weight/Swingweight/Balance

Greetings,

Anyone know the static weight, swingweight, or the balance of Andy Murray's racquet? I have done a search and was unable to find read data on this. It seems that the swingweight is very high and allows him to take slower/shorter more consistent swings at the ball. During the longer more nuetrual rallies, I always seemed feel that Murray was going to get the ball back but it was Haas with a faster swing had the higher potential to frame or slightly mis-time the shot.

I have personally switched to a lighter setup from a heavily leaded racquet but my shot tollerance, and serve returns have suffered greatly yet my volleys have gotten better. The match last night has prompted me to switch back.

Any of you leaded racquet users have a comment?

My old setup that I made note as my ideal was 385g 11pts. head light 367 swingweight. I came to this setup after buying a giant reel of lead tape, leading the sucker up to around 15oz/12pts head light and then slowly peeling the tape off and unloading the butt cap. The only drawback with this setup was hitting my one-handed backhand late but it seems better to have to work on only one thing rather than have multiple problems.

~Cheers

People who have handled Andy Murray's frames, such as Thomas Martinez, say that the swingweight of his racquets must be one of the highest in the ATP tour right now, along with Gaston Gaudio's racquets. I've once heard that there was so much lead tape under the grommets that it was literally spilling out of the grommets. However, I've also heard contradicting stories. With that given, his racquets are not head-heavy from what I read. It should still be somewhat head light, but not very much.

I'm personally experimenting right now with high swingweight and head-heavier racquets. Sometime ago, I used to play with racquets that were in the 330-340 gram range and 335-340 swingweight range, and about 7-10 pts. head light. Right now, my Head Prestige is about 3.5pts. head light, 365 grams with a swingweight of about 390. I like the fact that I don't have to swing like a monkey in order to generate decent pace. It also feels very stable on pretty much every stroke. I just need time to get used to it.

Thanks for the feedback ShcMad. I bet you string your racquet really tight with that high of swingweight and hit really flat.
