Anyone tried Head RIP Control as a cross with natural gut mains?

I'm thinking of trying a hybrid with Klip Legend mains and Head RIP Control crosses. I want a power-taming cross to hybrid with the Klip gut, but I wanna retain as much of the comfort of the gut as possible, and I want the tension to keep up with the stability of the gut as much as possible.

I've tried excellerator in the mains w/ Rip control crosses. The softness and tension maintenance will be good but the problem is RIP control is textured and will cut through the mains fairly quickly. You might have a different experience w/ gut so let us know.

ah...good point...the Head RIP control might saw through the gut mains...hmm...will have to think about that one. But you found the RIP control to hold its tension pretty well (at least as well as the Klip Excellerator)? I don't break too many strings, so tension holding and comfort are my main considerations for a power-taming cross.

I asked the same question in Mojo's thread of Klip + Isospeed Pro; I figured since Isospeed and RIP Control seem to similar it should be an interesting setup. As soon as I have time, I'll put in Klip Uncoated 16 + RIP Control 17 at 54 lbs. in a couple of PT630s.

I'm interested in using Rip Control as crosses, too; I'm currently using Gosen OG Micro Xs. If you have ever played with OG Micro in the crosses, could you please compare?
