Anyone want to help a #1 singles high school player out?

I'm using a babolat aeropro drive cortex racquet. I like hitting mostly groundstrokes and power is usually a big part of my game. The thing is i've tried hybrids pro hurricane tour + xcel premium, pro hurricane + conquest. And i've tried luxilon big banger + cheap prince poly. The luxilon had some good pop but i felt it was too stiff of a string. I recently just strung my racquet with the pro hurricane+ conquest at 56.5 lbs but it didnt have as much pop as i remembered last time i strung it midpoint. Can anyone recommend my a good string setup that gives some good pop but also is arm friendly?

It would not make any difference if you were #3 player or a bench player.

Did you raise the tension on the hurricane/conquest combo? If you raise the tension, you will feel less pop.

If you want to hybrid a poly with a soft cross, go for something like Ashaway Dynamite, Alpha Gut 2000, IsoSpeed Control/Professional, Head Protector, Weiss Cannon Explosiv, Gamma Professional, etc.

If you choose the thinnest gauge, these strings will give you the softest combo.

+1 for isospeed control, great string that is arm friendly (even says "arm protection on the package". hybriding with it is great too.

Actually i lowered the tension it was at midpoint 58 lbs. And today i tried it at 56.5 lbs. I'm not sure why i feel less pop.

I second Isospeed pro for an arm friendly choice. For me, I did not like the way the string breaks after a number of hours hitting.

another +1 for the Isospeed. I use that string for every hybrid I use. Love the stuff.

Do you need to use poly?

I'm still not quite sure what everyone means by "pop" (thought I do have an idea), but CyberPower has a lot of power and is really soft as well. Big Ace is also soft (but I personally don't like it, other love it) and has a bit of power. There are both poly. There are a few others, but I can't remember them at the moment.

If you have arm problems, have u considered switching rackets? I used a Pure Drive with gnarly wrist/arm problems, and after switching to a KBlade I could use any string fine without hurting my arm.

I've found the Unique Big Hitter to have a softer feel. 16 is fine and 17 is even a bit softer. I'm going to try some klip hybirds coming up.

Try head sonic pro 17g, SPPP 17g. Both r very soft and giv ample power. Sonic pro is my fav and i jus got all my stix strung w/sonic pro in the mains and babolat vs natural gut 16g in the crosses. I dont get as much spin w/the hybrid setup compared to full poly, but the comfort is amazing and iv noticed a substantial increase in power. Also the nat guts soft characteristics has increased dwell time which really improved ball placement.

Try Signum Poly Pro Plasma 1.28 at 55 in the mains, with something soft (Pro Supex Maxim Touch, NXT, NRG2, Head Fibergel Power) in the crosses at 60. I think you'll like the results.
