i need some tips

you see i'm confused if i should put my family's status as "single parent" well because my dad lives in korea and we live here us California.
I know you get alot of benefit for being single parent,
my mom is a us citizen and my dad is a korean citizen they are still married its just they live seperately for 5 years
And my dad sends money to our family every month to live off, but technically my mom does not work so does it consider as zero income???
i really want some benifits and i do not know what to do!!!

I dont think it makes a difference what status your family is in regards to the admissions process.

If you are looking for financial aid and grants, the status and income of your parents will matter.

Your parents are married and your father supports the family. When they ask for income they mean what your father makes off salary and investments. It doesn't really matter whether he's living with you or not, though if you'd like to include that in one of your essays on life challenges you can. If you were to claim your mother is single and raising you on no income in your college applications it could be considered fraud.
