Are the Asian nCode nSix-One Tour 90's now being heavily discounted in Asia?

Since the Asian K90's are now out and the Asian nCode 90's are now discontinued, does anyone know if the Asian nCode 90's are still available in Asia and if they are being heavily discounted? If so, how much are they now as compared to before the release of the K90? And has anyone seen an Asian nCode 90 in a store with a 4 1/2 grip lately? If so, where and how much was it?

If the Asian nCode 90's are now on liquidation or clearance in Asia, I might want to stock up on some.

Thanks for any info.

Here in Japan, the release of the K-90 at ¥33,600 has got the n90 being sold at the normal price of ¥28,600..

Thats why I wont buy from here, although they are Asian versions..

If you want to email me what you are willing to pay, I may be able to get my hands on a couple for you..

Breakpoint,

a report from thailand:

Same as japan, release of K factor has no effect on NCODE price.

It is currently at 4000 bahts, but only due to age and time.

In Bangkok, I still see them in shopping malls. It costs 5,555 Baht with 24 cans of tennis ball. Unfortunately, there is no 4-1/2" grip. Even 4-3/8" is very rare now.

I would like to get a couple of nCode 6.1 95's and I was hoping the price would go down a lot as the K Factors became available everywhere. It seems $20.00 to $30.00 is the most they have dropped. I get the sense that they are not going to get much cheaper. It seems that some models never get to the deep discount stage nor do they end up as SMU's at the large sprting goods retailers. Ever seen a PS 6.0 85 or 95 or a HPS 6.0 at a Big 5 store? I expect the retailers will sell out what they have at the current price and when they are gone they are gone. Although I will keep checking to see if the prices do drop.

Thanks for the info and for the offer, Chris. :D

However, I think the nCode 90 is still WAY too expensive in Japan, unless you mean you can get them from outside of Japan for a cheaper price?

BP, you should ask Anirut directly. He mentioned to me when we last spoke that you were interested in getting it. I would say that freight from Bangkok would be cheaper than Singapore.

Good luck with it.

BP,

Are you still interested in getting the N90? I'll check if any 4 3/8 is still available. Please confirm. I've been seeing the guy but was afraid to ask him about the deal.

Mail me if it should be more comfortable.

I read the first post wrong and thought you were asking about an Asian K-90. Thats why I said I could help out..

Yes, I've been in contact with anirut about this. We started discussing it a few months ago and then we just exchanged e-mails again on this last week.

BTW, I haven't seen you on these boards very much recently. Are you still playing tennis or have you just been too busy to visit?

No problem, Chris. :D

I'd still be interested in finding out how much Asian K90's cost outside of Japan though. I'd love to try the Asian K90 to compare it to my Asian nCode 90. I think the Asian versions just work better for me because I can generate so much faster racquet head speed with them.

No worries.

Naw, I've only touched my racquet once since the beginning of Nov last year been busy with work ... :(

Hey Chris,

I would be interested in acquiring your Asian k90. Do you have 4 1/4 grip size available. Also, I would be willing to trade you any US K factor (team,95,90,etc...) in exchange. Let me know. My email is mk3alex10@yahoo.com. If you email me, put Asian k factor in the subject line so I dont automatically delete it without reading.

Thanks

So has anyone even seen any Asian Wilson nSix-One Tour 90's recently in any stores in Asia? If so, which store in which country and how much were they selling for? Also, ever see one with a 4 1/2 grip?

Thanks.

I still see some on the racks here, at the price I told you about. And NO 4 1/2 ... too bad.

Hmmm...thanks, anirut. I thought you had told me that they were sold out of the Asian nCode 90 in BKK? And when you say "the price you told me about", do you mean that price you were able to get from the Amer agent? Thanks

Nope, the guy I know doesn't have 'em. It's the "regular" price (in department stores) with the 24 cans of balls.

OK, thanks, I see. Unfortunately, as we've discussed before, it's just not worth it to pay to ship a whole case of tennis balls halfway around the world as they're rather heavy.

BTW, noticed any new sales on the Asian K90 recently?

Well there was a massive price drop in Australia.
Original price - $300 AUD
prices after K - $220-50 AUD

The current best deal in China is around 1100 RMB (~$140) although 4 3/8 is rare but can be found with a little effort. It's not really being discounted as compared to the best price of about 850 RMB 6 months ago.

u dun know what u 're buying in mainland China. Come to HK, i believe they still have stocks of ncode 90. last time i noted, was about 900 HKD. FX USD=7.81 HKD.

dun know if they have L4 size

Why u are looking for ncode and not K90 ??

heh...not really. Even with the price drop they're still cheaper in Singapore, by about $20. That's before considering the stronger Aus $.

Hi Craig,

I guess I've gotten so used to swinging the lighter Asian nCode 90 that the US K90 just felt a bit too heavy for me right now. However, this may be because I had the bad luck of buying a K90 that was way on the high end of the spec as mine had a static weight of 13.2 oz. with just an overgrip. If mine had a weight of only 12.5 oz. like all of yours do, I'm sure I would probably feel differently about it.

I'm playing pretty well with my Asian nCode 90's right now, but I would also love to try the Asian K90, but they are tough to find at a good price. That may be the only frame that can top the Asian nCode 90 for me right now.

Because I still play well with the Asian nCode 90, and since it's discontinued, I thought it may be cheaper than the Asian K90. Also, since I've not tried the Asian K90, I don't even know if I would like it better than the Asian nCode 90.

hope you are well. I just returned from Hong Kong last week. I visited numerous stores and saw maybe 2 Asian n90s. They all carry the K90 now. Chances of finding n90s are getting slimmer and slimmer, regardless of price. Good luck! I feel lucky picking up my three 2 years ago.

will be back in Asia (several countries on business) in May, will check again and let you know

Hi, I'm going to be traveling to Taiwan soon -- does anyone know of some good stores that sell tennis racquets like the nSix-One Tours and such?

If so please let me know the address/phone number! I won't be there for long, around 1-2 weeks so it would be fantastic to possibly get Asian tennis racquets over there :) thanks! (btw, I'll only be in Taipei)

Well, maybe I'll just have to wait until they start putting the Asian K90's on sale and look into those if the Asian nCode 90's are getting harder to find. I just thought that since the nCode 90's are discontinued that the stores may be discounting them but it sounds like even if you can find them that they are not discounting them very much. I already have two, so maybe they will have to hold me over until I can get the Asian K90's. I wouldn't have minded picking up a third Asian nCode 90 if I could get one cheap, though.

BTW, how much were the Asian nCode 90's and the Asian K90's going for that you saw in Hong Kong? Also, have you ever seen either racquet with 4 1/2 grips in HK?

Thanks again.

BP
I own 2 4 1/2 n90s and a 4 3/8. got lucky with finding the 4 1/2s. I paid about $110-120 USD for each. The cheapest K90 in Hong Kong I saw was $1400 HKD, list price being $1800. I think I saw one 4 1/2, but most were 1/4 or 3/8. I played with my friend's Asian K90. I felt the swingweight was higher than that of my Asian n90s, but maybe I was tired that day. Felt nice though, serves were particularyly good.

Wow, those Asian K90's are pretty pricey in HK. Did you find the Asian K90 better enough to make you want to switch to it from your Asian nCode 90's?

BP,
the Asian K90 did not cause me want to switch. Actually I played with both the US and Asian versions. I felt the swingweights of the 2 did not differ that much (both heavy-swinging). I am guessing the weight difference comes from different handle weights. Second I think the slight improvement in feel but significant increase in price over the n90 do not, for me, justify the switch. I still love my n90s and will keep playing with them. good luck

(but hey if I have a lot of extra money, I will get a US K90 just for the heck of it. On a separate note, did not find the groove with the TF335. want to try the RDS002 Tour but slightly worried by a SW of 330)

Hey thanks RJ!

Perhaps I should just think about picking up a US nCode 90 since the Asian versions are so much harder to find and getting one with a 4 1/2 grip is next to impossible. I can always just wait for the prices of the K90's to drop once all the hoopla blows over.

I demoed the RDS 002 Tour. Don't worry about the swingweight as I thought it swung very light, even lighter than my Asian nCode 90's IMO. I loved the feel of the TF335 and it's a very solid racquet with good power and I was thinking about switching to it. However, it may have a bit too much power and it swings a bit funny sometimes. Also, it was hard for me to get used to holding and swinging something with a much bigger headsize and thicker beam width from my nCode 90's.

Howard,

Interesting. Maybe I won't chase after the Asian K90 afterall. BTW, can you tell me which store sold it for HKD $1400? Did this store have a 4 1/2 (L4) size? It's funny, I'm Asian and think I have standard "Asian hand size" but a 4 1/2 suits me perfectly.

I'm going to HK soon for a business trip and might check one out; or I can have a friend there pick it up for me. If you like to tell me the store's name over e-mail, that will be ok as well. My e-mail is bodegabay@yahoo.com. Thank you.
