lighten up people, yes murray did well at the masters and cant handle 5 setters so far in his career

Yep - his last 4 slams he's made QF, Final R4 and QF - Apart from the 2 guys in front of him in the rankings, who has a better slam record this last year?

looking at those point totals, there seems to be a very good chance that Murray is at least number 2 by this time next year, considerering the 2 guys ahead of him are defending 2 majors each; fed two titles and a final at wimby.
Murray has to be the favorite on hard courts at this point, with a good run at this year's wimbledon and next year's french, he could be number one in the world.

err, one step at a time eh, he has a QF to defend, a final at the USO to defend
cincy master points to defend
he still sucks on clay, he'll never overtake nadal because of that. and he is still unproven at the slams
this isnt the WTA ya know, i know that ugly jankovic can be a slamless WN.1 but on the mens side we all expect a bit better
not some masters winner

almost half of his points due to a final @ RG. don't read much into this, I'd like to see him succeed at least one more time.
where is/was bagdhatis e.g. ?

He'll be 30th seed - Gasquet and Nalby won't play. Montanes 32nd seed mmmmmmm.

One more withdrawal and Tommy Haas would suddenly find himself seeded for Wimbledon. Assuming of course the calculations factored in his recent win at Halle? If not is it then plausible those grass points will see him bumped up to seed status anyway? It'd be good for Tommy, and cut down on one possible tricky opponent for the other seeds heh.

As I said. The seeds are determined based only on the ATP ranking and only then the grass points formula is applied to seeds shuffle the seeds.

http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/players/seeds.html

The seedings for the men’s and ladies’ singles will be announced on 17 June.

From 2001, 32 players have been seeded in the Gentlemen’s and Ladies' Singles. These are the top 32 players on the ATP Entry System Position (ESP) and the WTA Tour ranking. The former list is arranged on a surface-based system to reflect more accurately the individual player’s grass court achievement as per the following formula:

ESP points as at a week before The Championships
Add 100% points earned for all grass court tournaments in the past 12 months
Add 75% points earned for best grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

So Haas will be seeded only if someone else ranked higher than him withdraws.

I don't understand what the difference? The FINAL seeds, that are put in the Wimby draw, are determined with the formula you posted. The formula is the same and is applied to every player alike.

The difference is that if you are ranked say #33 (assuming all top 32 play) and have a good results on grass you will not be a seeded player even though you would have more points than # 32 or #31 after the grass point formula is applied.

Seeded players are determined based on ranking only and only than the formula is applied to shuffle 32 players who are already seeds.

So in this case this affects Haas who would probably jump couple of spots and be a seeded player (probably instead Montanes) if formula is applied before seeds are picked.

According to the rules, that's correct. I thought they applied the formula BEFORE the seeding and not AFTER.
Good to know ;)

Schuettler (sp?) will be seeded, hurrah. Hope he can pull off a repeat of last year...unlikely, but I'm still crossing my fingers.
