Babolat Pure Drive... HISTORY..

HI guys..

I have an interesting afternoon today.. I stopped by my local tennis store to buy some stuff and I saw my friend strung a few "interesting" Babolat.. One of the Babolat said Pure Drive XL with beautiful graphics with NO WOOFER (it has some green swirl in the graphics).. and one with PureDrive+ NonCortex with WOOFER. The racquets had Fairway leather grip on it. I picked one up and swung around and wooww.. it felt good and heavy.. I looked under the bumper and there was lead all over the place.. So I asked my friend and he said it's belong to Jeff Tarango.. .. To make along story short.. 2hrs later I was face to face with Jeff and he brought me two brand new PureDrive Plus NonCortex with WOOFER. He said he was the third guy who played Babolat (After Moya & Nicolas Lapentti).. He was with Babolat advisory and design for the PureDrive.. The 2 PD+ that he handed to me was told that the exact racquet that Andy play with his NEW PD+ PaintJob.. The ones I got were brand new with no plastic grip on it.. The cushion said Babolat ATP Tour grip.. I will have some pictures taken by tomorrow.. It was inside plastic that said for ATP Pro..

Anyway.. anyone kindly list some specs for the very first PureDrive (NON WOOFER) XL (or standard) then PD+ with Woofer and PD+ Cortex? I was asking Jeff to get me some original PureDrive with NO-CORTEX, NO WOOFER and he said it's almost impossible to find one nowadays.. Even the ones that he handed to me..

I will post some pictures comparison tomorrow..

Jeff Tarango is known for having one of the biggest tennis tantrums of all time... he walked out of a Grand Slam match after getting in an argument with the ref and getting booed by the crowd.

it's brand new so I don't know if I should string it up.. Babolat is just too powerful and too light for me..

nothing is free in life my friend.. so I had to pull out some bills for sure.. The ones I got were the NON-CORTEX with WOOFER.. I am trying to get the PD NON-CORTEX without woofer.. I just want to have a complete line of PD for collection..

I will.. it's just taking too too much time.. I will eventually post some of them.. definitely the CAP racquets.... Since you're Lendl and Federer Fan I may post some Lendl racquets.. Yeah.. I actually do have some Bosworth Lendl racquets from GTX Pro, Pro-T and MID-T.. they are difference weight & mold compare to the retail one.. the MID-T is totally difference mold.. the GTX Pro, Pro-T is heavier.. with same mold..

Thanks, buddy, I am looking forward to your impressive collection, especially the Lendl sticks. And yes, the process can take pretty long. I learned it the hard way when I decided to take a few pictures of just my Wilson racquet collection in a rainy day.
