Bad Parnell

Once in a blue moon I'll get a Parnell knot wrong. I can't seem to replicate this error... what is this knot that I've done and will it hold? (It's my racquet not a client's).

It seems to happen when the clamp is to close to the tie off and I have trouble cinching the knot. I think the wrong loop is sitting above the other could be the problem?

When tying the Parnell go ove under and through for your first half hitch. Then go over under and through both loops for the second half hitch. Make sure the tag is is closest to you then the first loop and the second loop is farthest away. Tighten the first loop first then the second.

Gotcha, thanks guys, I think I'll slow down next time I'm tying and focus on that.

Tks for this description. That gave me a good visualization

A better description is:
Go over under through.
Go over under and through the same loop you went through again,
Pull by rocking 1st loop cinching tight, then pull tail snug, do not over pull tail as 1st loop cinches knot tight , hold tail in direction you want tail to end and release clamp.

@Znak you have your first half hitch outside your knot. Then you twisted your second loop to bring the tail through the loop backwards. Your tag end does not go through the first loop two times.
