Badminton stringing on a Gamma X-6FC

Anyone else run into this? I've been asked to string my first badminton racquets for a friend, and the tension marked on the Gamma bar doesn't add up.

I've removed the larger section of the weight, leaving the small section with the locking knob. I have a digital luggage scale that I use to check tension, and it always agrees with my set tension for tennis. But using the scale on the back of the bar, setting it to 20 lbs gives you in the range of 15 lbs, and you have to go to 25-27 to get the scale to read 20 lbs. This is when reading the face of the weight closest to the tensioner, as usual, lest anyone wonder if I am looking at the wrong face. (Three times I thought I must be doing that, and three times I have verified I am not!! )

Does anyone else's experience jibe with that?

To me it makes sense to set it via the digital scale, but it is curious to me.

Thanks all

@Trinity110,

I know what you're doing wrong.

In a nutshell... you're using the wrong set of numbers on the bar.
You're looking at the kilogram numbers, rather than the numbers for pounds.

Thank you. That is exactly the trouble. I never even looked at the lower scale on the front facing side, but rather assumed it would be the KG scale for tennis, since that would be, in my opinion, the next most desired scale. Obviously I know the 1/2.2 ratio, but never even looked to see how the scales compared on that side to see that wasn't the ratio. I think I now recall when setting up the machine, one makes the choice between kg or lb to be the forward facing scale. I erroneously was thinking the "smaller weight" scale would be the least desired scale, so would be on the other side.

Thanks for what should have been obvious!
