Best hybrid setup for less string movement?

when using a Luxilon BB and multifilament hybrid setup, what is the best way (which goes on mains/crosses) to get the least amount of string movement? and what's the best way to get the most tension maintenance overall?

as far as setup goes, also, which should have the higher tension, etc. ?

oh, and which setup gives you better control?

somebody please help with my dilemma! actually, at this point, i just want to know, if i normally string a racquet with Luxilon@54 and Multis@60 (on their own), would it make sense to just string a hybrid set up with Luxilon mains@54 and Multi crosses@60? help please!

thanks.

My first question is which multi are you planning to use? This is a valid question because most multis tend to lose tension very quickly and continue to lose as you play.

From what I gather, you're planning on putting the multi in the crosses. Losing tension in the crosses would allow more string movement for the mains.

For the least string movement, put the ALU in the mains and raise the tension on the multi crosses by a few lbs. A poly/multi hybrid isn't going to hold it's tension all that well. You could try prestretching both sets of string to reduce initial tension loss.

for the multis, i was planning on using the klip excellerator 16 on the crosses. i was going to do 60 for the crosses and 54 for the luxilon alu power mains. (racquet tension range is 50-60).

WT,

I think you have a good plan going, 6 lbs. of tension additional on the Excellerator crosses would work out well to keep the mains from moving, plus it'll give you the tighter stringbed feel for more control that you're seeking. And I also agree with Gaines on prestretching to minimize the tension loss of both strings.
