Best match-winning shot ever?

I was wondering what you guys thought was the best shot ever played to win a match point. Video submissions would be appreciated.

I'll start it off with this beauty - Federer vs Guga 2002 Hamburg QF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDNDZ0Gsq3M
- point starts at 9mins 28secs.

I remember Fed almost made another awesome one in the tie break at this years AO against murray - was just wide though. It's the first point of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkzbAAaSg5M&feature=related

There's also the time Federer tried that tweener against Safin at AO '05, would've been very cool, he wasn't close at all to making that one though haha.

there was fed's tweener on the second to last point of a match against djokovic - i think it might have been USO 09?

Federer vs Safin 05 Melbourne.

Safin won the match with a shot that had the god-like Federer crawling on all fours.

Yeah the backhand down the line that caused Federer to fall while trying to get it back was a good one. But the shot that officially won the point was the easy forehand putaway, so it wouldn't be one of the best as far as individual shots go.

helluva a shot. His actual match winner on the next point wasn't bad either. A forehand return winner if i'm not mistaken

Yeah, too bad he didn't pull that one out just one point later. There's something special about a great shot happening on match point I think. And I'd imagine fed's tweener would've been even more lauded if it had actually been ON match point. I'm not really aware of many great winners that have clinched a match point - I'm sure with the number of matches played since tennis started being filmed and broadcasted that there have been heaps of them. Hopefully some posters more familiar with older matches than I will be able to point some out

The last shot of the Nadal-Tsonga match in Miami (Miami? Maybe Indian Wells) was great, not too great of a match though. Gaudio's championship-winning backhand at the FO is most memorable to me, though. He was just tired of running around and said "screw it" and took a big cut on the first backhand he got a good look at on match point - and it went in.
3:55 in this video. This is the match that actually got me interested in tennis, back in 2004...

If you watch Federer playing grand slam matches, he always goes for a winner on match point. That being said, one of the best ones has to be the overhead winner that finished off Nadal at Wimbledon.

The best match point in my opinion was the one played by Boris Becker against Goran Ivanisevic in the 1992 Masters Cup semi-final. Unfortunately, YouTube took it down. But anyone who did see it should probably agree with me.

Can you describe the Becker shot to me?

There's no videos of it but the 1937 Davis Cup victory of Budge over von Cramm had Budge falling down and while he was falling took a swing at the ball and hit a winner on match point down the line. It was a match called by many the best of all time.

Basically, Becker served, Ivanisevic returned, Becker dove for a volley and if memory serves me right Goran scooped the shot into the net. I can't really remember it well because the owner of the clip got banned from YouTube. But if it ever resurfaces again, watch it.

Thanks. Sounds pretty good to me knowing the shots Becker could make.

Yeah the backhand down the line that caused Federer to fall while trying to get it back was a good one. But the shot that officially won the point was the easy forehand putaway, so it wouldn't be one of the best as far as individual shots go.

The fact that he was able to use it to beat Federer at a time when he was nearly unbeatable makes it a great shot, regardless of its degree of difficulty the magnitude of it was enormous.

Cool thread idea.

The best match winning shot I have ever seen is Fed d. Agassi, 2003 TMC Round Robin match (he also played Agassi again in the final).

Fed saved match point vs Agassi with one of the best forehands Ive ever seen, then a couple of points later, finished it with another on the run sick angle.

I'd give the credit for Safin's victory to his level of play throughout more than I would to an easy forehand putaway. It was Safin's game that had all the magnitude in that match. In this thread I was looking more for shots that were spectacular in their own right.

Here it is (at 1.10), Changmaster actually posted it a while back along with 3 or so other Federer match winners.
