Best Pop for Aero Pro Drive ?

P&G

New User
Hi I am low level club player with many years experience. I have enjoyed playing with Aero Pro Drive for last few months, but strings gave out and local stringer popped in some wilson sensation instead of the hurricane strings. Raquet now as dead as a doornail in comparison. Looking for some good pop while retaining a soft feel to avoid tennis elbow issues. Is natural gut an option , have not used this for 10 years, but remember it fondly ?
Thanks for some advice from real experts

Natural gut would be perfect....get some Babolat VS Touch or team and your good to go....it would really bring the frame to life. Natural gut is also best for your arm. Sensation really is a crap string..

Good luck

If you do not go the gut route, X-1 works well on this racquet -- it adds some life to what is a pretty detached and numb feeling stick. Plenty of pop, control and comfort. FWIW, your description of Sensation is right on -- DOA.

In one of nickb emails to me, he mentioned that a gut main and syn gut cross hybrid is a pretty good way to go and it maintains playability for a long time.

I'm seriously considering this setup as my elbow is really hurting me now even with my current hybrid setup of Poly Force mains & Prince syn gut cross at the lowest tension.

I like multis but the fraying gets old on me real fast.

Hey Il Mostro, hows the tennis game that you mention in your mail?

Cheers,

Thanks for asking. As always, a "work in progress". I've actually pared down my schedule, adding two full rest days per week. Wednesday/Thursday is still a little tough for me -- I play 3 hours Wednesday night (until 10:00); then have a Thursday morning round robin. Now Friday is full off-day before 4 hours of round robin play on Saturday. I actually plan on taking 2 or 3 months off after the first of the year, working with my coach once or twice a week and then spending the rest of the time in the gym. Sometimes you have to take one step back to take a bunch of steps forward. Aging is a mofo :)

Good to hear that you are taking care of yourself. Yeah I know what you mean and I'm suppose to be relatively young LOL! Man my arm hurts LOL!

Good luck my friend.
