Blade 100l v7 vs 100l v8 vs blade 98l

Hi Guys,

I am looking here for somebody who played with them and do a comparation. I currently switch from a blade 98 18/20 ( kblade and v6) to a blade 98l as with the age ( over 65) I have difficulty handling the weight, even tough I played with 19 gauge strings( Cyclone 19)...


For blade 98l:

Likes

Solid for the weight.
Ability to play with all kind of strings.
Easy to maneuver specially at the net ( improved my double games).
21 beam width.

Cons

Dead in the upper hoop requiring some lead.
I missed the touch of the regular blade ( or maybe its the thicker gauge, Cyclone 16 ). This is very important as I'm relying a lot on touch for singles and doubles


Looking now to see if a 100l it will be a better fit for me.

Tested blade 100l v8 a bit and my impression isn’t that good. It was strung with lux element 16 rough as main and mantis comfort syn 16 as cross at 55/60 on a crank machine.
First, this is the first blade I have played with that doesn’t feel like a traditional blade I am used to. It feels bulky, stiff and without control.
By comparison blade 98l felt like a real blade.

So maybe some lead customizing and strings could help blade 100l. If anyone one has done it please share.
